Default Cars Dawydiak - SF

Anyone have any experience buying or selling a car through Cars Dawydiak in San Francisco? Due to a number of reasons (heavy workload, temporary move to a corp apt while finishing home renovation, completion of project car, general laziness, etc), I am considering consigning my '04 GT3 with them. any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I thought about consigning a mint 97 C4S I had with them, but they wanted to give me 10% less than private party price on the car and they probably would have listed it for 10% above retail. Cars seem to sit on their lot for quite a while. I live nearby. Not the friendliest lot when you walk on the floor either. Owner seemed nice, though.

Has your car been offered up here on RL first?

Thanks, neuroguru. anyone else with similar experience.

Yes, I have mentioned it on RL before & had it listed in RL and PCA classifieds. Have been trying half-heartedly to sell it for 6 mos or so as my project car was nearing completion. However, as it goes with most "projects" it has taken longer to finish than anticipated and I haven't really pushed a sale as I didn't want to be without a Porsche for an extended period of time. As these things go, now that the project is nearing completion, I've become very busy at work and with completing a home remodel and moving. so, need to move my GT3 without much hassle. If you know some one that might be interested, PM with with an email address. Thanks.

yeah... repost some details/pics on the car or a link to your previous fs ad. what are you trying to get for it? i know a guy local to me who is looking.

i can understand wanting a hassle free transaction but i'm sure that if you take into consideration the $$ you will lose by having to pay a consignment dealer you could pass that savings along to a Rennlister who'd try to make the deal smooth and easy.

Have you considered your local dealer? I know here, our local dealer sells it at whatever price y'all agree to list it for and then when it is sold they take something like 3-5% of the final price. They have done this for many of the local guys.

The other thing is to be SERIOUS and list it here. Most all of us bought and sold a car here. If it is a known car, taken care of, and most importantly, price right, it will sell.

Ah, I remember that car. Very nice example. In this market, it's not going to sell at 59K though.

To the OP: If you really want to sell that car, I would advertise here as well as the major car sites for selling (autotrader.com and cars.com). THe selling price needs to be be in the low to mid 50's if you are serious about selling it and selling it in a relatively quick timeframe.

What did you ever do about that 51K offer you got?

there's another local (SF/bay area) offering - 17.5K miles, cherry at a decent price

I'm kicking around the idea - PM with the details on your car, I live in the city and do not need financing

Here’s the deal on my GT3:

-2004 with 25k miles.

-I’m the second owner. I bought it in December 2006 from Carlsen Porsche under Porsche Certified Pre Owned program. Car had 8k miles on it when I bought it. The prior owner was supposedly an older, multi-car customer of Carlsen and got the first 2007 GT3 (new model) that came into their dealership. I’ve never had the car on the track, sadly, and the miles I’ve put on are primarily commute miles from my house in Menlo to Santana Row – almost all on 280. The car is always garaged at home and work, and essentially, no one but me has driven the car for the last 17k miles.

-Car is black/black with a full leather interior, PCCB (ceramic) brakes, Bi-xenon headlights and Right & Left electric sport seats. The car is all original, no after-market parts. It’s in excellent condition.

-Sticker price was just shy of $120k, I paid about $80k, and I’m asking $55k.

-Here’s the link to several photos.

You can edit your post and select "delete" and it will remove it from the thread. Then just PM that info so your personal info isn't in the thread if you don't want it to be.

I'm new to the Forum, so sorry to bump an old thread. I'm in the Seattle area and looking for my first 911. This one caught my eye.
http://www.carsauto.com/2004-porsche...4s-c-1012.htm?

Does anyone know this car? How is this dealership?
Last thing I want to do is fly down there and find out that it's not what it seems.

Any help is appreciated.

Try posting this in the 996 forum as this one is on the 996 GT cars and most folks here fixate on them
