Default Hoosiers

I used MPSC for track days with my '04 GT3 for years. I got 6-7 days out of them before they corded.

This year I decided to try Hoosiers. My shop recommended 3.0 degrees rear and 2.5 front for them. I got only 2 days of track use before the rears corded, so they dialled it back to 2.5 in the rear.

I JUST GOT ONLY 1.5 DAYS (1 day at Monticello and .5 day at Thunderbolt.)
THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

In between using the MPSC and Hoosiers I ran on Toyo R888 for a while; they lasted MUCH longer, so I'm planing to use them again. Or maybe I should revert to MPSC and get my 6-7 days.

COMMENTS ANYONE/ALL ?????

i can't see why R6 gets corded on inside since you can't drive it on street.
i have -3 on my R6

As you know Fred Thunderbolt chewed up my new NTO1's too. They are not corded but the one day there took a heavy toll. I think I got about a dozen days + out of my last set of Nittos and these have 5 days and are looking close to done. I only mention this as a data point to consider before blaming the Hoosiers solely. It's a know fact that the octopus (at thunderbolt) eats tires.

Is it inside OR outside wear? Almost everyone that runs the Hoosiers will end up with anywhere from -2.7 to -3.5 front (spring/shock combo have alot to do with it) -2.3 to -3.0 rear.

More info is needed.

You may have it the wrong way around, you would never have more camber in the rear then in the front.

Go try the Nitto's, great tire better wear then the Hoosiers.

Fellows,

I have been wearing out the Hoosiers on the inside on the rears, and on the outside on the fronts.

QUESTION: How many days of track use do YOU get out of them on the GT3??

outside fronts cording you need more camber. about -3.5
rears you need less camber or you have a toe misalignment

It sounds more like you are a Toe Adjustment issue in the rear. Also, more camber in the front....

Is it a predominantly right or left turned track? Is this problem one sided only?

1. most ppl run more camber up front for 6
2. based on your wear pattern, more camber front, less camber rear
3. CHK YOUR TOE. i bet it's fk'd up.

Try kuhmo v710's they lasted 42 hc's before they corded(grip was awesome til 38hc after that felt like mpsc's) but I do rotate and flip them. Similar grip as Hoosiers. Mike
