I ask as I plan to get my suspension setup right (motons) this fall for one tire (R6, since scrubs are hard to come by these days)....was curious if I could switch into NT01/R888 without any issues.
You can adjust for tires but you don't have to. I'm all adjustable, yes but I don't always change. However slicks for example, will have way more grip so the car may over/understeer as compared to the R-comps or vice versa. That, I'll adjust for. Or old tires that have no front grip I'll stiffen up the rear.

You have a good plan to set up for one tire get some good baseline settings and align for the particular tire. I have a set of baseline settings on my shocks that the all knowing Lex gave me but they're for the slicks so I just go off the balance I don't soften.

I should have a setting for each tire, I guess. But by going off the balance you compensate for varying leves of grip depending on tire and grip.

thanks for the response. so as always I have to compromise if I want the same car to be able to do several things. Will stick to one tire for now.

Same here. Usually around 15-18 Heat cycles and they are done grip wise!
ok, 6 session per day 3 days = 18HC.
yep, they are done

Yea, I don't see any reason to keep using them after 18hcs if they have no grip. Too frustrating. Hey! stop bitching and moaning, slicks last me a day!

LOL but it is the most fun day being on slicks that's for sure.. I remember when I ran a set of Dunlop slicks that Matty C ran on his GT2, and boy oh boy the car was in another realm.

what camber is optimal for those tires, with round and square options?
I have -3 front -2.5 rear currently.

That would work. I have 3.2 front 3 rear on stock size rims. Mike

Slightly OT but still a Hoosier question....does anyone change the rears but stick with the original fronts ? I'm asking because I just discovered a crack on the inside shoulder of one of th rear tires. Tire obviously NFG, so will need to be replaced. The fronts still have lots of rubber (and grip) even though the've got about 24 HC's. Do I need to change all 4 tires or go with new rears and shoot for 40+ HC's out of the fronts ?

Here's some pics of the crack on the rear tire. First time for me, but I've seen similar cracks twice this summer on others.

Can't beat all new 4 tires : ). I probably keep the fronts if u have multiple sets of rims for practice tires. I change them all. Mike

I know that's the right thing to do. Just hate having to re-tire prematurely. Probably worse because I've cracked three wheels in the past 7 track days so I'm also having to re-wheel prematurely. Cracked wheels, spinning and splitting tires. The slope is getting more slippery.....
