Question Track wheels

This question has been asked before but not for awhile. I'm looking for wheels that are light weight to be used for track purposes. Does anybody have any recommendations. Thanks

In my case I bought a set of second hand 997 lobster claw 19" x 8" and 19" x 11 wheels (complete with as-new tires) on ebay for $1500 for steet use and use my GT3 wheels for track use. Thay may not be the lightest but they will certaily take a pounding.

CCW wheels.

Many users, many good reasons. The best of all, however, many be the customer support of the owner John.

Most highly recommended.
pm if you want more info.

Searching the archives is still valid. Not much has changed with the possible exception of the cheap-ish OZ wheels from Tire Rack. Allegrita or something like that. No matter what you do, stick to 18" wheels.

btw, I'm a huge CCW fan. I have three sets now (2x C10 + C14). (thanks PolarPorsche for supplying my latest set!!!) Keep an eye out for used CCWs as they usually come up for sale when the owner decides to sell his car.

Cheers,

AllanJ do you have some experience that makes you say "no matter what you do, stick to 18" wheels"? I have read some comments here on the subject but never had an issue for street use.

Beside the fact 18" is the textbook "right" choice for the 6-GT3, his use is for track wheels and there are way more choices for track rubber in 18" vs 19". I've seen several cases of people buying wheels first and then finding out the rubber supply is limited with their choice. That's all.

CCW C10 or C14 are cheaper and stronger. However, CCW are not prettier.

I think that is why I was suggesting keeping his 18's for track use as I do.

We're on the same page.

19" on the street is fine. The car's ride height will be raised a bit which will help with usual clearance issues on the street.

CCW with the shot-peened finish & Boothe center caps! (yeah, I know, the center caps are way overkill for bling, but they lock on very securely compared to the Porsche ones)
