I sold my 993 for a GT3 45,000 miles ago.

The GT3 is clearly more fun and desirable to drive.

Only regret was that the 993 was paid for and the GT3 values took a nose dive about a year after I bought it.

The only problems I have had in the last 45,000 miles was the ignition lock was replaced under warranty and I had a leaky seal on the back side of the engine (not the rear main seal), which was another easy warranty fix. I drive it every day.

A few extra points.

If you do need the back seats a shop that does a lot of PCA track prep for our area just dropped used rear seats in a GT3 with no issues.

Take a test drive. You will probably love the ride and the response of the car, but make sure before you spend $50K+. My wife loved my prior 02 C4S and hates the GT3. That cost me an 06 Cayman S for her!

If you plan on tracking the car you may want to look for a car with the sport seats and / or a car with a roll bar, 5 point harness & seats. You will end up there anyways if you like putting it on the track.

Use the internet and cast a wide net. I bought my car a year ago and went 900 miles to get it. I ended up with a car from an auction with 45K miles, no history but with obvious track time (weeds in the radiators, beat up panels under the car etc.). The good news I got it cheap - $44K; the bad news I put a lot of money in to it after I bought it. I would have been better off buying other lower mileage, cleaner GT3's with known histories that were priced, at the time in the $58K to $62K range. Now that I have the car running as strong as a mad bull I'm OK with the outcome, but the truth is I should have paid more up front for a better car.

Firefisher- I'd 2nd that, been looking for several months & these guys have been super. I've looked & driven a few but more importantly passed on several that I thought were good but the guys here (who had already seen them) waived me off. Right now I'm close on 1 and in the hunt on another- both in CA- and couldn't be different but the guys here are helpful.

I'd also 2nd the earlier comments about N&D seller. All the business deals I've ever done had to be fair for both parties so while I want a good deal (and won't buy emotionally) & I also want a fair one. It's a small group, eh?

I am just curious: If you import import a EU car, what import taxes would you pay for an 2004 GT3 ?

Actually, the AC turns off at WOT. I tried it at the track yesterday when my cool shirt pump broke and it was useless. Maybe I'm on throttle too much lol

Don't get put off by the tracked cars, most are maintained better then street cars. And they might have some yummy mods already on there

Oh, since you're going to have to do the toe links anyway (500$) try and find one that already has this mod.

not clear that an EU spec car is importable, as I dont think it will meet DOT regs
