Just installed my rollbar and 6 point harness. Want to keep using the original 3 point OEM units for street use. When using the 6 point, the 3 point warning light comes on of course. How do you guys deal with this ? put an dummy clip in there to 'fool' the system ? or just keep the warning light on ?
(if i keep the light on, my boardcomputer starts to go on/off after a while)
And what if you would get into a crash with the 6 point harness: would the airbag work if you have 'fooled' the 3 point harness.
I just clip in the seatbelt first and sit against it (3-pt behind my back). Airbag will still work in my case. Not that I'd need it with the harness.... If your hands are crossed when you go into a wall, expect your hands to be blown back toward your face, probably breaking a bone or two when they smash your helmet.
I use a dummy clip - any recent VW/Audi seatbelt clip will work. Someone on the list sells a dummy clip for $25 bucks if you'd rathere not visit a scrap yard with a box cutter Do a search.
Or just ignore the light and If now you have a buzzer alarm sounding this can be turned off at the dealer.
For more permanent results:
With the key removed from the ignition
disconnect the cable that goes from the drivers side seat buckle in a socket located under the seat.
Make sure to remember where it was placed so to re-install when you want to re-use the function of the seat belt reminder and again connect it with ignition key removed.

You can get the dealer to turn off the chime. As I understand it, the airbag deploys differently depending on whether you are belted in or not, but it will still deploy.
WRT the buckle: I used to cross the passenger side seatbelt over to the driver's plug, but then I got a cheap-o adapter from eBay [with free shipping] for $3.59 [looks like the price went up]. The male part is a little thin, but it works.
Thanks guys,
@ 911Slow: So if i would disconnect the cable under the seat, the airbag function is not influenced by that ?
If so, that seems to be the best option.
Airbag will work no difference in deployment.
Porsche is not that stupid to let you die in an accident if by mistake a little cable is cut or forgot to plug.
Imagine that gt3mk1 clubsports didnt even had belt buckles with cables to serve as seat belt reminders.
Thanks John. Your motivation makes perfect sense.
My passenger bucket seat does not even have the warning light option installed, but does have the airbags (front/side).
^ Ok ok if you saw it.
I only said that cause the PIWIS tester actually can't do this task, it can only kill the buzzer not the light.
Visible seat belt light warnings are obligatory since 2002 in Europe.
Maybe he used another software or bypass it somehow, cool no matter how he did it.
