Default Hello all - first post here. just picked up my "new-to-me" GT3 (2004) on Saturday...

Drove from the Chicago area to Muscle Shoals, AL this weekend to pick-up my new car.

Wow is this thing fun!

Towed it home and it's safely in my garage.

Here's how it looked when I arrived:

The front splitter is gone. The guy said he "took it off", my guess is that it was taken off accidently. Any ideas where the best place to buy a replacement would be?

Loaded and taped up:

Home after it's first bath:

It needs a real detail for sure and that should happen soon.

The car had 35,800 miles on it and was a daily driver only. It's in very good condition.

I'm excited to get some seat time in this thing!

Congrats. A lot of people who drive their GT3s on the street take off the front spoiler for extra clearance. I think the GT3 looks way better with it in place, so I choose to scrape it every time I drive the car. I would get the "cup" version - check the Racer's Group, Sunset, Suncoast...

The weather was nice enough that I was able to do some spirited driving in the hills this weekend - can't wait to get some track time myself.

Does anybody have a part # for the different one?

What is different about the cup version vs. the regular, other than cost I'm sure

The cup version wraps around the sides of the bumper, whereas the stock splitter tapers in. I believe it sticks further down as well. Part# 996.505.986.91 and it should only set you back about $150.

cup splitter for sure -- it is cheaper
also, consider buying 2 at a time to save on freight -- it usaully ships "oversized" and costs a fair amount... freight for 2 would be the same as freight for 1.

Also consider ordering extra pins for it... you are bound to lose a few... I think they are .75 each and I cannot recall how many the splitter takes.... maybe 15 or so.

What color blue is that? Lapis?

Congratulations!

Thanks - ordering today!

Yep, Lapis Blue. I love the color. Good idea re: ordering two - I heard these need frequent replacement.

Lapis is the fastest and quite rare on these cars!
I think less than 10 in North America

Lapis is the fastest
It did seem faster than those ugly silver ones

digging your garage set up
Thanks. I do most of the work on my own cars and it's nice to have a warm place to work with a lift.

I also use the lift to store a car so it give me an extra bay!

Pretty standard to remove the splitter. I install my one beat up one at the track only.

Beautiful car and color! Enjoy

Nice color. I think detailing it will make it "yours". The car will love that and in that color, I bet a good detail will make that machine look sooo nice. Congrats..
