I have the Evo article Zico references at home, that ranks the MK I as one of the top 3 drivers cars, but I don't recall if the MK II was even considered. Does anyone remember?

Thanks

Both models with the Clubsport option are lighter than the Confort ones.

You're right. The Porsche's from EVO 100 Rank was this:
73. Porsche 959
65. Porsche 993 GT2
52. Porsche Boxster S
50. Porsche 968 Club Sport
49. Porsche Carrera GT
46. Porsche 911 Turbo 993
41. Porsche Cayman S
38. Porsche 911 Carrera S 997
37. Porsche 911 RS 964
28. Porsche 911 RS 2.7 1972-3
11. Porsche 911 GT3 RS 997 Mk1
3. Porsche 911 GT3 996 Mk1

I found a funny print screen of the Porsche website back in 1999 when they launched the GT3 and explained why the car was't legal in the US.
