Default 997 996 Control Arms

What is the difference between a 997 and 996 GT3 front control arm? Are they interchangeable? From the Tarret website, I assume they are different in overall length.

They are, the 997s are longer. you can put the 997s on a 996 for more camber, but not the other way around. Remember if you do decide to go from 6-7 you MUST change the other pieces like the thrust arm.

THX VA.

So would a 7GT3 ctrl arm with no shims = a 6GT3 with Xmm shims?

Doesn't work that way. the 7's have a different geometry then the 6's. You need to change all the parts.

What are you trying to do?

On my 6GT3 I changed my lower control arms at the rear to the 997 RSR part...no problems and nothing else to change.

rears are different. you need to change the front trust arm or your geometry becomes a mess.

When I owned my 996 GT3 I replaced all the lower control arms with the Porsche Motorsport monoball 997 arms and had no issue with setting it up. The car was great. I'm not saying you guys are wrong I'm just saying that this worked just fine for me.
