Can't fill gas tank
For the past few months I have not been able to get a full tank of gas. The gauge reads 7/8 at best. From my recorded mpg and the gallons accepted, seems that the tank will not accept the last 1-2 gallons. Is there a vent or some such I could check?

There is a charcoal canister for the fuel tank for emissions reasons but I doubt it would be the problem. There was an issue with fuel lines inside the tank on early build GT3 and some GT2? See the thread below.

Mine also does this on occasion when it is either hot outside (+100 degrees) and the car has been run hard, or I get the random gas pump. Haven't found anything wrong with the car and all I need to do is stand there and hold it tight into the car to get it to fill/overfill.

I've been having the same issue. Normally stops at 3/4 tank, occasionally 7/8 or even full. I already had the fuel level sensor replaced once under CPO, but it's still happening. I'm going to try a few more gas stations and see if that makes any difference.

Mine always pukes when I fill it from my gas cans at the track when the tank gets about 3/4 full. If I start it and run it for a while, it somehow resets and will allow me to fill it the rest of the way

Mine does the same thing. Seems to go in waves--does it for awhile then fills up all the way for awhile. I've always assumed it was the pump. Sometimes if you push the nozzle or change the direction a little, it'll fill more in the tank. The irony is that when it works properly and fills all the way, even a very small amount of topping off will overflow the tank.
Joe, that must've been your email to Joel Riser.

Mine is a consistent problem at any/all stations, whichever pump I use.. Good news is I can't get it to overflow. That's another way that I know it's not filling.
Yeah, I asked Joel, he directed me to Peter at the dealer. Trying a little DIY before taking it in.

Now that I think about it...a friend is storing his Boxster S (986) at my place while he does a remodel on his house. Took it for a drive this weekend and gassed it up. It did the same thing. Pump stopped at 3/4 full and I eventually got it 7/8 full.

I have had the same problem, on two occasions. Now I always check the gauge prior to shutting off the pump. If it does not show FULL, I just add more gas, with caution......
So far no overfilling.

Fuel came out of the filler on me once too. I was doing the fuel with fingers on trigger and it clicked off. I decided to give it just a bit more fuel and it over flowed a little. I cannot remember if the tank was even full.

It was a Chevron for me.
One time I took an extra 5 gallon can and tried to add additional gas when needed, what a PITA, kept overflowing. Had to poor it Very slow, otherwise it was a mess.
