996 gt3 camber opinions
I just got my car back from an alignment which was supposed to be set to Kussumaul settings of -2.5f and -2.3r. I realized that they set it to 2deg 52min f and 2deg 27min r. I guess they could'nt figure out the math. Anyway I am debating on just to leave it or correct it. Car is used 80% track and 20% street with Prelli r- compound Corsa's.

The Pirelli Corsa's are new so I plan to use them for a while until I get a set of track only wheels/tires. Suspension is stock except for the more agressive alignment settings. The car is new to me, only two track days so far, so I am trying to get a baseline to sort from.

I do 20+ track days a year. I have not done any other suspension pieces yet. My concern is the additional camber affecting tire wear during street use, although limited. I have rotated the struts to allow for the additional camber. I am just trying to get a baseline to work from. Since the tires are not a full racing slick, I was debating whether almost -3deg front would be too much.

I started with 2.5 and 2 with a suspension rework including toe links. I am probably driving a somewhat similar schedule to what you describe, maybe less street. I have had the car 2 full seasons though and as I've gotten more comfortable with it I found at the middle of my second season I needed more camber. Both front and rears are wearing noticeably on the outsides.
You may be in a good place with what you have but I suspect you will eventually want more camber.
You really need the toe links I think too.

Thanks for your reply. The links are on my list. I agree that I will probably need mor camber eventually, which is why I think I will just leave it where it is for now rather than going more positive. Here are the rest of the settings:
Front camber -2.9
total toe 4'
Rear camber -2.5
total toe 34'
Sways 1 from full hard F&R
Ride ht F 115mm
R 128mm
Corner balanced also.

The 6-GT3 does not need more then 2.5-2.6 deg unless you're using slicks. With your settings you will wear your tires on the street very fast. Sways and chassis height are fine.
I can't figure out your toe settings from your post. But rest assured without the upgraded toe links it will be out of whack after your first track day. You want like 0 toe in front and 2-4 toe in in the rear.

Toe is nearly zero in front at 02' per side and 17' per side rear, i don'y know what that works out to be in mm but it seems to be generally agreeable amongst the 6gt3 crowd. The increased camber is what I am concerned about and the tire wear as you stated. Just wondering if it is worth the trip back to the dealer to back off the camber. Are the toe links for Front and rear? Where is the best place to get them?

Ok, toe is probably fine in the rear, since it won't last anyway. My car stock would lose it's rear toe setting if i breathed on it wrong. you can go with the PMNA links but they are a PITA to adjust, however if you use your dealer exclusively it may be the right move so they don't give you crap about aftermarket parts. I personally use the ERP since they are adjustable for bump steer. TRG makes good ones and Tarett in San Diego.
As far as tier wear, the corsas are designed for track camber so you should be ok. If you were using PS2's youll cord the insides in a couple thousand miles or less. Seriously, it's not worth paying for another alignment, if they want to do it gratis then sure go ahead. I personally would wait for your rear toe to go and add the toe links and re align the car.

Thanks for the great advice guys! I have heard about the toe problem before, and hope to have the links for future track days. I am using the dealer due to the fact that I still have a warranty on the car, so I try to follow their advice if I can. I will take the understeer safety net for now but do agree a softer front would probably be better.
