Fair enough, but still not understanding chasing lap times.
If you were running 120 with that passenger, maybe ditch the passenger? 200# has to be worth 1 sec?

well you had a coach...did he say you were getting everything out of the car that it had to give? Have you had the car properly set up to get the most out of it for your driving style....Could your instructor do a sub 1:20 in your car? If not, get a new instructor...or like Dell says, ditch the weight...also, what tires are you running...sounds like you are on PS2's or similar street tires...get mpsc and you will get your second and more...agree with Dell, you shouldn't be chasing lap times...good times come with training and experience (smoothness)...usually has more to do with the driver than the car...have a pro driver give you a ride in your car and your perception of what the car is capable of will change dramatically....

After watching your video again for the third time there are a few things that it seems would be in order:
1. Seems like there are several apexes that you are NOT on the gas soon enough. Seems to be braking a little earlier and then late on the throttle.
2. The "happy hands" is a big no-no. That shuffle approach would make me very nervous as a coach in the right seat. At no point during a session have my hands (other than shifts with my right) come off their position on the wheel. You can feel so much as to what the car is doing (as well as quick corrections) through your hands so you need to be ON THE WHEEL and light to the tough.
3. There also seems to be quite a few places where you are either coasting or feathering the throttle. If you are NOT on the throttle then you went into the previous corner probably a bit too hot and cannot be back on the throttle fast enough.
4. Lastly, there seems to be ALOT that the car still has that you are not exploiting.
I can see 3-4 seconds easy with a day of good coaching.

No way. That's cup car speed! 1:19 is hauling *** in a stock GT3 (although not sure how stock Jon's is anymore). I have actually also set a goal of 1:19 at SP for this year. Nothing wrong with setting goals as long as you don't become fixated on them

He was running in the 123 range (best laps) on his videos so there is easily 3-4 seconds with proper coaching. If 1:19 is cup car speed then the goal is absurd.
As "odd" as it sounds I have NEVER set a goal of a specific lap time for a track. I always wanted to try and beat my previous best. I guess technically that is a "time" goal but IMHO different than what the OP is frustrated with.
I think 1:16-1:17's is a fast time for 7Cup and 1:17-1:18 for a 6cup. It would probably be better for the OP to post his BEST lap, which is apparently in the 1:20.xx range?

The GTC3 record is a 1:16:0 by T Pank in 05 on the old pavement (but not **** back then like mid "07 or '08 until last month).
I think Larry did high 21's in his H RSA w/ a passenger on the new pavement last fall so high 19s should be achievable on the fresh pavement I would think in a 6 3. Low 20's might it though.

Yup. When I was there last time, there was one 7Cup (with Redbull Logos around) out there with sequential box doing 1:16s in light traffic.
