Jon,

Great video. Unfortunately I didn't turn my camera on during that session. Would have been fun to have both perspectives.

I seem to only have video from the 2nd session. Do you have any from the first?

BTW: I think we both went faster on the broken pavement. Which still confuses me. lol

I'll be there some on Sat and most of the day Sun to watch and maybe help out a few racers if they need it. Still trying to make the Nov event w/ Poto though.

That was my fault, I should have specified I was referring to his video he posted.

I'll be hanging out in the pits, my racing days are over. I think...

By the way the track felt fast, my tires didn't. We are lucky to have the rain this weekend for the SCCA race. The track should be good for the Club Race. I started instructing at this track in 1994, I know the track well.

I never said that the video was my fastest lap in this GT3 (1/2 tank of fuel and a passenger). Paul a friend timed me at a 1:20 in the afternoon. New tires will give me a 1:19. I was just sharing.

They are running an advanced DE also (that's what I'm doing). 4 sessions a day. Bring your car and lets have some fun out there like the FC event!

Track record for a 405hp+ T1 corvette with racing suspension and slicks is 1:18:9 with a pro driver, so if you're doing 1:19 in a street GT3 you are very fast. Did you do any SCCA racing, what class? Bill

Track record for what? There are cars (Porsches) that have posted faster times than that during the Club Race events. Are you referring to a track record for a specific class of car?

Comparing a Vette to a GT3 on a momentum track isn't exactly comparing apples to apples.

What you really need is the "track record" for a prepped GT3

Definition of a track record: timed posted during a race for a specific competitive class for a specific sanctioning body (SCCA, NASA, etc)

He is referring to the current standing track record for any SCCA T1 car on Summit Point. Same class that a 996 GT3 and C2 would fit into.

It is real badge of honor amongst the racers to hold a lap record for a given class, sometimes for several years.

Actually it is a Viper not a Vette....and hasn't been beaten in a few years now.

Is there a database that shows such information?

Hey Jon,

When did you run ITE? Where you around back in 1999 when Levitas from TPC set the ITE record in a 911 C4 at 1:18?

I don't even know how that is possible, amazing lap time.

Dell, every org; NASA, SCCA etc keep track of their respective lap records for their given classes at specific venues. Usually the regional chapter keeps a record of the races/tracks in their region.

Maybe http://www.mylaps.com/ keeps a list of track records?

Sweet, thanks Paul!

Does SCCA have a "GTS" class like NASA? Trying to figure out where different Porsche fit in.
