Default Help: Safety Devices Cage

I've done a search but have been unable to find any pictures of a Safety Devices Cage installed in a 996 GT3. I was leaning toward a DAS rear cage but am now re-considering.

Thanks guys, big help. I believe there is another model which has a double criss cross in the back section. Anyone seen that?

I have seen the DAS bar installed and like it very much but I am not confusing the two. This is the safety devices X bar I mean, see link.

Default I had this cage

Hope these pix help from a 996 GT3.
PJ, I didn't know that you where looking at this cage. I actually had one but at the time didn't want to weld plates in the car. It was a nice fit and very stout.

Supposedly the cage designated for SR cars will fit in non-SR as well, but not vice versa. What are the attachment points for the rear section? Shock towers?

Yeah... at the time I felt the same way... I wanted all bolt in etc... so when/IF I ever sell, I could just take it all back to stock and sell it etc...

I do not feel that way today... I will not be selling anytime soon as the 996-3 is perfect for my needs and budget... of course I would like to have a 997 RS Mk II with a 3.8 etc... but that is out of my league and will be for quite a while...

I think what I/we have for a cage is perfect for DE days etc.. but if I were in the market again, I would take a harder look at the SD cage... my other concern at the time was being able to get my seat back far enough and this could be addressed with a custom bar...

I like that you can bolt in a front half of the cage... I would do that for track days if it was easy to do.

How easy is it to remove the front half of the cage? (approx. time it takes..)

I assume that it is not ideal to drive at the street even with padding without helmet?

But full cage is available in the RoW GT3, right?

DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT A HELMET if you have a cage!

That was part of the reason why I did not keep the SD cage and went w/the GMG bar. Since my GT3 is street driven, would not drive with a front half cage installed w/o helmet even w/padding. (Took an elbow to the head last night during a friendly game of B-ball and have a knot to remind me of today) So, you get the picture.
- This SD cage was designed for no sun roof cars. Rear mounted to shock tower.
- It would be an easy task to unbolt front half if you would actually do so. Guessing 1/2 hour max?
