Colby, silver is fast (see my pic), but my new love is a white 997 GT3, time will tell if I get one.
Glad to hear the safety stuff is top priority. FYI, I did my interior with all Porsche supplied components and it went flawless. I recently helped a friend that used other than Porsche components and while it saved him a couple of bucks, it was like a "will fit" part. Spend a little more and make it easy on yourself, just a thought.
Be prepared, right after you buy a new part, someone will post up a perfectly good used part for half the cost, damn them!

the seats you mentioned are great stuff, but the bracket and sliders are not cheap. budget $400-600 for sliders and seats. anything less then that will bind. i have every slider recaro and sparco made, they are all POS. i have "secret" stash but i cannot disclose. suffice to say cost more than sparco/recaro. is that 2k for TWO seats? if so, you will not be able to get new spg's. you will barely get two pole positions with slider/brackets.

cracked rotors are fine.

Ya 2k for two seats... Sounds good. That will save me about $600 for rotors.

You've got a PM.

Funny you should mention that. White was actually my first choice.

Love the picture BTW! And i hate it when that happens! Happened a lot with parts on my Turbo so i'm getting used to it.

i prefer recaro or omp over sparco.
both seats you showed are 900, add 400 for sliders and shipping/tax/labor to install, 2000 for a pair wont be enough.

it's AT LEAST 400 per one set of slider/brackets. what i mean is 400 per seat.

the only omp i like is the one standard one off 997 cup cars. i think it's about 1800 per seat if not more.

Colby:

If I missed this already, Sorry

Is this a track only car or a track car / DD?

If it is a DD and you are going to unbolt and bolt in seats after every event?
I ask this because the second seat is no fun on the street (safety??)
Also unbolting and bolting can become not FUN and it is very easy to scratch the interior of the car (ask me how I know on both issues)

The other thing that I am wondering is how much time on the track have you had?
Did you get to track the turbo? If you are new the stock pads will b fine for a time.
What seats are stock in the GT3 that you are looking at? Those also Might b fine?

Cheers
Jerry

Hey Jerry,

I'd say for now its going to be 60% street, 40% track. It will become more of a track car with more funds and time. At this point i'd rather not have to bolt and unbolt, hence the Pole positions or SPG's.

No track time other than classes from Russell. If the stock pads are fine i'll stick with them. The stock pads on my Turbo were no bueno.

Driver's side seat is a Euro cloth seat. I may just keep that and get another cloth for the passenger, depending on cost. I believe for one they are around $1500. My only concern is the cloth starting to smell after a while from sweat. I know leather doesnt retain odor as well so i might try and get a couple leather bucket seats. I also want something relatively comfortable.

I sat in a couple Euro leather seats and loved them. Not sure how the cloth will compare.
