I just installed the te37's and i really like the way they look--simple, the car is pretty enough and the wheels make the brakes look that much better. i have only had the wheels on for several weeks, and new tires went on at the same time so it is hard for me to sort out the change i feel due to wheel and due to (obtw, the tires are yokohamas).

I took some photos recently in Valley Forge Park during sunset on my way to work...

Wheel weights fell off on mine during first track use with them.

I have the wheels, they are hubcentric, and while I didn't use spacers, the fronts do rub at full lock, even with a stock size tire (not a huge deal, just have to watch it in the parking lot). I haven't had troubles with weights coming off but these were not the rims I used at the track (just street and autox)

Fikses are definitely cool but they are 3 times the price and weigh the same.

I believe I was the one who started reporting on the wheel weight issue without going through every link in this thread. I did report this to Tire Rack, for the record and got a credit to offset my rebalancing expenses, the first rebalancing, that is. I rebalanced countless times. Volks do not hold weights primarily because the barrel of the wheel is tapered. I don't care what tape you use. If you run the car hard and develop wheel heat the tape cannot hold a weight that is wanting to "slide downhill". I rebalanced mine after every single event until getting CCW's. Others that run Volks that I'd see at the track I'd go up and ask if they had issues and would get "huh?" type responses. I'd look at their wheels and could see were the weights had come off and just move on. A great looking street wheel in my opinion.

You mentioned in your other thread that using 3M black adhesive wheel weights and Racer's Tape high temp duct tape solved the problem. Was this not a viable solution? Thanks.

Interesting. So it's temperature related with respect to the weight glue? I'll have to let our engineers know.....Honestly, I have sold many sets to Porsche owners and never heard this.

I remember this, I think you had tried every possible type of wheel weight, securing method, and idea in the world short of welding them on. There was nothing that would secure the weights to the Volks.

Tried a new set of TE37 wheels today. 4 sessions and the weights are still on. Conventional weights secured with HVAC aluminum foil tape. I may not be a pro but the car is not exactly standing still when driven. I will update this report if they don't say on.

Second day of TE37 wheel use. I guess I figured out how to drive faster. The weights are sliding off.

My friend has a fancy balancing machine (with laser beams, good enough for Dr. Evil). He figures it can help find a spot for the weights on the flat part of the wheel. We'll see how it goes.

The wheels are significantly lighter than OZs.

First- not here to bad mouth any product. I will not, however, sugarcoat an issue where it has cost me much time and money. Having said that Roadsterdoc.....No, nothing and I mean NOTHING would ever secure weights to the Volks. Maybe they were just my set of Volks. You decide. As I have posted, I tried so many different weights and tapes and did it all at a pro chassis shop that is nationally known. My car, my wheels, my brakes (rotors/pads/ducts), even my style....whatever. Volks don't work for me. Like I said, great street wheel.

Damon, it was perhaps heat related in that you have to get them mighty hot for it to happen but that was every track day for me. My braking style is not unusual. I am in an instructor training program, I can't be that far off a "normal" track braking technique. It seems the issue is the barrel of the wheel is tapered (sloped). That, heat (lots of heat) and maybe the Volk finish = no more weights. Tire Rack gave me a $50.00 gift certificate for my troubles. I spent HUNDREDS on weights, tape and balancing before selling the wheels with FULL DISCLOSURE at a deep discount. I would estimate my experiment with Volks cost me one thousand dollars in weights I personnally scoured the country for, all kinds of tape and MANY rebalancings. I forget, like maybe eight times???? Then I sold them at the usual loss here. It had to be a grand, plus one half my hair I pulled out.

Amaist. The shop I used had a 16k balancing machine. Good luck. Yes, they are light. Even more so without half the weights you start with.

How do you spell CCW ??? No issues with these wheels and I am certainly faster now than I was when I was running Volks.
