Quick-Release Steering Wheel
Has anyone installed a quick-release steering wheel on a street 6GT3? How did you deal with the air-bag sensor? Any comments on installation issues would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bill

I have...
I bought the wheel and qucik release from Gert and along with it, he sent a resistor... had a shop do it all for me and it worked. I have no idea the rating of the resistor. Gert would know
now you see it
now you don't

I just have an airbag light on my dash since i did not install the resistor. No biggie as I don't really see it. If it bothers me I'll put a piece of black tape over it

Personally, the ability to get in and out easily is a HUGE plus. For those of us with long legs that are tall the removable wheel has made life much easier. In the past with the fixed mount I had to contort a bit to get into a race seat with the wheel in the way.

Fair enough, as a vertically challenged man I couldn't understand.
Cheers!

As far as no airbag on the street. It's not a big deal since my car is 99.99% track.

I am tall and fat so having the wheel come off is a huge plus for me in terms of getting in and out.
I had my horn rewired to a blank switch -- you can see a wing up/wing down rocker switch in the "wheel off" picture above, just to the left of the AC controls -- that is now a horn button -- just another way to skin the cat so to speak...
