**FYI......I AM NOT SELLING MY STOCK WHEEL/AIRBAG**
(I have received several emails/PM's about this)

I am replacing my stock wheel and airbag with the following:
*MOMO Hub adapter
*Lifeline Quick Release
*Cup Steering Wheel

Only problem is there are NO INSTRUCTIONS. I know how to remove the stock the airbag and wheel. I just don't know what to do in order to install the new stuff.

Any help is appreciated. Andy has offered to walk me through it over the phone but if there are instructions out there I will save him the time of hanging on the phone with my install.

Ok, here are some pics now that I finally have it done and have my car back from the race shop.

The pics are pretty self explanatory. I did NOT use the spacer or the grounding ring for the horn. I don't need no stinkin' horn at the track

The shot of the measurement illustrates how far out the wheel is with the MOMO adapter and cup wheel using no spacer. I measured from the plastic base that is FIXED so you can measure you factory wheel to get an idea.

The increase distance (closer to the driver) is PERFECT for tall guys like me that are all leg and need to have the seat all the way back but then the stock wheel is to far away comfortably.

The only snag I ran into was trying to remove that grey clip from the airbag/horn ring that sit under the wheel. Instead of breaking it as it just wouldn't disconnect, I pulled the wheel housing (telescoping) as far out as I could go so I could get to the screws on the side that hold the plastic covering surrounding the fixed shelf behind the wheel. Inside there you can easily disconnect the airbag and horn harnesses. (pictured)

Here is what I did;

- make sure wheels are straight
- unplug battery and go grab a beer (wait a couple of minutes)
- unscrew airbag module from the rear (tork screws)
- use 22 or 24 mm socket do unscrew steering wheel
- install momo adapter and be care when aligning the adapter on the shaft. Near one of the bolts you'll see a little triangle with the word "top". Align it for it to be on top.
- make sure bronze ring on bottom of momo adapter rubs constantly on little tab attach to steering column. The contact with tab will assure constant horn.
- install spacer
- install the little aluminum ring (it is there to assure grounding) with tab pointing down
- while holding everything with one hand, connect horn button with two wires. One wire is from the adapter and the other will go from aluminum ring to grounding tab on the horn button. Look for grounding signal.
- Screw the wheel, aluminum ring and spacer to adapter with your six allen bolts.

Where is your quick release in the picture??

The ring in the left lower corner of your picture is the 15mm spacer.
If you want to use this, than you need to use the long bolts, otherwise you need to use the short ones.

Thanks Gert! Do I still need to use the thin silver ring with the tab on it?

By the way, can you do anything about the US Dollar so it we can order more from you?

Quick release pictured now.....(and a couple pic showing the gap)

The only problem I am facing is that the quick release base doesn't fit in the spacer or thin ring opening. I have no problem screwing it directly to the adaptor though.

FYI...I don't plan on using the horn since this is a quick release.

I ordered the 996 cup wheel and qr from Gert and he put the resistor in with the package...

I have yet to install it.

There are no discernable markings on the resistor... Maybe Gert can chime in with more details.

Dell, the Alu ring is only there to assure grounding. You don't need it and so is the spacer. Anyhow, the release is already a big spacer in itself.

Won't the combination of hub + quick release + cup steering whee,l bring the steering wheel too close to you? There is a company called NRG that does "slim" (abt 1 inch) quick releases.

The tab on the ring is used for the female connector (ground) of the horn contact.
