dealer quote on extended warranty
My dealer just quoted me the following on my 04 GT3 with 27K miles for an Easy Care bumper to bumper extended warranty.
Months/Miles Price
24/75 $2395
36/60 $2295
36/75 $2737
48/60 $2441
48/75 $3242
60/75 $4350
I am leaning towards the 48/60 as I doubt I will drive 33K miles in the next 4 years on this car. Any thoughts?

Interesting. I went to my local dealer about an extended warranty (Dave Strong in Salt Lake City), and they said that Porsche doesn't sell a product for TTs & GT2/3s. They told me to look after market, and that they could not make any recommendations....

Knowing you track your GT3, make sure your claim will not be denied if you ever need it. This topic has been discussed and to my knowledge, all these extended warranty companies will deny cars that have been tracked. That is unless you have a good relationship with your dealership.

I asked about DE events when talking to them and was told as long as maintenance was kept up everything should be covered. In addition she did mention that the Service Advisor has a lot to say about getting claims paid and they have been working with Easy Care for a while.
That was my first thought as well

There are several threads on this same subject. You might do well to review them.

I got the same "Easy Care" warranty through my Porsche dealer. If the car has less than 25000 miles, then the rates are different. I have yet to make a claim, but also asked about DEs, and was told the same thing about coverage. "Easy Care" has a few different levels of care, but they would only issue the most comprehensive of their programs to a GT3. Note that the "months" refers to the time since the car was first registered, not from the date that you initiate this extended coverage.
Certainly, these extended warranties are a crap shoot, as far as whether or not they will cover what you may need in the future. But since repairs are so expensive on Porsches, especially when performed at a dealership, I decide to take the chance.

Also, they can only pay if they're still solvent when you need them.

Maybe it was the way I wrote it in my post, but I was told 48 months from the end of my factory warranty (just out of warranty now) or 60 k miles total on the clock not 60k more miles

Martin,
I was mistaken. Here is what the contract says:
"Contract Period
2. (Add on Mileage) Used Vehicle Coverage. The time and mileage limits of the term selected start on the contract purchase date and at zero(0) miles. Coverage expires when the length of time or accumulated mileage (whichever comes first) of the term, shown in the Customer Information section of the Contract is reached."
So, the time period starts when the contracted is written, but the mileage is what the odometer says.

I just bought an EasyCare extended warranty from the local dealer also ... don't recall the exact price ... but the quotes you have seem VERY familiar. My car still hasa under 10K miles ... probably about 8,500 or 9,000 when the warranty was bought. For me ... this was a must/no brainer.

I just bought a Fidelity/JM&A ext warranty through a local dealer, 5yr/60k from start of contract (not end of factory warranty). Pricing was in line with what Martin had posted. 2004 GT3, 17k miles currently. Just another data point, since it seems a lot of us are shopping for these now.
