Just bought a cf air collector, and need to mount it using double-sided tape. Can anyone recommend a brand (3M?), the specific part number, and/or a source (preferably on the San Francisco Peninsula, or online)?
Thanks

3M yes, where to get no, but make sure you use some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) cleaner before the tape to ensure a long life stick. I use this stuff when sticking anything down. It's the same stuff 3M supply in wipes etc....

When I was researching 3M tapes to install my Cup splitter, I ended up choosing 3M VHB Heavy Duty Mounting tape, model 5952. It's an indoor/outdoor, double sided foam tape available in different widths and colors. It's industrial stuff that works great. I found it at a local 3M dealer in a 15 yard length, which is as small a roll as they sell. It was about $30, but well worth the cost. Look on the 3M site to find a dealer close to you or there are a couple places that sell through on-line sales.

I've been torture testing a piece on the front of my work car for the past 2 months in anticipation of installing a ram air scoop when the weather warms up (don't want to drill holes in the deck lid). I used a small piece of the tape to stick a small piece of plastic to the front bumper of my work car. So far neither weather, speed, or drive through car washes has dislodged it or weakened the bond.

Haven't received it yet, due in on Wed. I got it from Bill Koenig who took the cf parts off the 6GT3 he sold. One of the other guys here bought the cf mirrors and splitter (maybe something else, too). Here's the pic Bill sent me.

that was me... splitter, mirrors, wing, and a non cf collector that he threw in...
I am not sure I will mount the non-cf collector OR I may have it painted to match and then mount it...
not sure though...
