Is this Greg/Rocky, formerly called D&A Racing? If so, I've done business with him in the past when he was located in Santa Clara. Straight up guy (then).

Default 996RsWing from Poorsche Motorsport

Jramos - We were D&A racing before we move to Fremont. We were the one who sold you a set of Hossier Slicks. Thanks Mooty and JRamos for the feedback. Attached was the car we run last year.

so from Manthey, to the source in SoCal, to Greg in Fremont and still only $1600 retail...

Given the current currency valuations, how could this possibly be????

Edit: I am not saying it is not possible... but... that would be a great deal at $1600 for an authentic NEW manthey wing... and theoretically... put the OEM wing "out of business"...

I do not know if Porsche AG changed the specifications on the side plates. If they did there should be a new part number so one can order the correct side plate, original style versus new style. I think the original style was hard to manufactuer.

997 GT3 RS wing side plates use the orignal style 996 fastner but I believe the side plate is not recessed where the bolt head rests.
I repacked everything again in case I have to return it. Will take it out again this weekend and take more pictures. Sorry I've been busy with work.

So, JD Motorsport turn out to be a real thing? I kinda knew it since the guy, Greg, sounds pretty straight in the email. He sends me an email whether i'm still interested in the wing.

So wtf wing did I get!! Thanks for taking the drive for us mooty. Quality of wing/weave does look great but still have the issue of mounting brackets. As for the posted pics the only difference I can see is the winglets have black washers instead of silver.
I will post some close up shots of wing tommorow.

HINT: read my description and look at the photos of my Manthey wing in Posts 176 and 180 and tell us if you think the wing above is from Manthey...

ANSWER: no...

sorry, but I think you've been had. Besides, if the wing was originally bought in Germany, somebody has been losing money in the series of transactions... the original Manthey wing costs EUR1780+19% tax...

Sorry, but that doesn't appear to be a Manthey wing...

Yeah I pretty much knew that at this point. Now the issue will be is how JD motorsports handles the situation. Maybe he did not know what he was selling so I will give him the benefit of doubt as he seemed like a nice guy. Time to find out.
Here is his quote from his email prior to purchase.
