Default Gear Oil

Most dealers do not stock PTX for just GT2, 3's, and turbos. They use whatever they have.... I had my dealer R/R the gear oil (5700 miles) when they did the second RMS using Mobil 1 75-90 Delvac that I got from Lufteknic.

Dell,
Last I knew you were getting PTX pumped from a drum into your own container from the dealer. What changed?

Decided to go the Delvac route at the last minute

Just too much hassle to deal with pumping from the dealer.

Any observations from the Delvac fill? or same perceived performance and comforting noises from the diff in slow speed turns?

hmmm, if you don't hear slight groans as you turn out of your driveway or cycle around parking lots and such, then I wonder whether your chosen lube has the "correct or approved" friction modifiers for the diff? The grunts and groans are generally a considered indications of a functioning limited slip with correct or OEM lube in the box?

do you know whether your 3 had factory fill in the gearbox when you bought it? I suppose the noise is mild enough that not everyone would notice it.

Dave, I was being a bit facetious It's just hard to hear over the bypass pipes!

Yes, I do hear the grinding, banging, rattling, sounds of the diff when I back out the driveway. On the track? Not a chance

sorry, should know that Dell w/ smiley = trouble. thanks for clarifying, it makes me feel a bit better that Delvac doesn't seem to change idiosyncracies of the rear end
