Actually if the repair was done to a high level what's wrong with buying a great track car at a discount with the accident hx factored into the price?
I'm asking from my own perspective of having such a car. It was wrecked at about 3500 miles, and it now has 16,000 miles many of which were done on the track. The car drives absolutely perfectly. I don't have plans to sell it, (although I have toyed with the idea during business slowdowns) rather just use it to enjoy future track days. I don't care about future resale value.
Just not sure what you mean by "slippery slope".

Some GT3 buyers look for a great deal, and then find out the car had more damage than published. I had a buddy buy a GT3. had it inspected by a dealer, and no known problems noted...got the car home and had it aligned. the alignment person noted all the suspension was new becauase of stickers on the parts...it was not disclosed.... he paid top dollar for a car he felt was clean...
a hit car that is just going to be tracked, should be fun. If your never going to sell..I have said that four times now...

Depends on what you mean by "last" on the track. Rec'd rebuild intervals keep these suckers running for a lifetime of enjoyment.
If we are talking a street GT3 that doesn't see near the "abuse" the Cups do then you would be more than fine with a 200 hour rebuild interval. Cups are usually 80-100 hours. Some will do a rbuild at sub 50 hour intervals but that isn't needed for chaps like us.

Haven't heard of any 100k cars yet but, it really depends on how hard they are driven. Nobody has any leak down, compression or dyno numbers. My guess would be that you would be looking at a refreshing way before you hit 100k.

Per the salesman...the car has paint work on the right front fender and passenger door and quarterpanel. to what extend? no one knew. The dealer from which it has history with "Beverly Hills" will not disclose any information, until you show proof of ownership. The Lawyers are ruining this country!!!! I've had no problems from other dealers on getting information from a VIN number....I smell something fishy!

No Dan does some things w/Sports Trend...he will get you into a ST car and then mod the crap out of it!...probably makes a couple of $$ for the sell-thru...but different "owners". Sam will just give you the 411..he's honest guy...won't matter 1 way or another for him....if its a POS, he'll tell you. He will also probably tell you to get a turbo!
