Get a second set of rims with MPSC's for the track.
Thats odd - Walter Röhrl selected Corsas for his private car's fun rims.

Why would they work for him and not for you?

Have not driven the newest Corsas but I believe too that on a dry track Cups are the grippier tires.

As you pointed out, WR chose Corsas for fun, not for the ultimate speed.

May I just suggest that the profile of the tires may set off the ABS, which is a real pain in the **** and cuts your braking significantly. Be careful to match profiles as closely as possible to the stock PS2's, or at least that the profile of the front and rear do not vary much from the ratio between front and rear on the stock PS2's. The ABS computer seems to have a narrow tolerance for variation that arises from tire profile changes or differences.

I can't speak for Walter and what he uses them for, but I have the "Systems" and they're subpar in the dry.

Thanks for that info. I was wondering about tire diameters. Is there a table that has info re various tire diameters. Seems like I heard of a reference to that info somewhere but don't recall where.

Joe, I'm not aware of a table. Anyone else?

One way is just to see what other guys have used. I can tell you that the 315 Kumhos for the rear when used with 235 fronts definitely set off the ABS computer and render the braking practically useless. The 315 Kumhos were 35 profile. The stock rear PS2's are 30. So one problem would involve any significant variation from the 30 profile of the rear PS2's.

Here's a good tire size calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit

I just made a simple spreadsheet so I can quickly stuff in tire sizes and it tells me what I need to know.

Cheers,

Nerdschliefe, next time you are over at WR's house for dinner or whatever you two do together because you're obviously good buddies and all, would you please, please say hi to him for all of us? That would be just so great.

Thanks ! I think I might go with Hoosier R6 to start. After reading some of the postings I was hesitant to go with MPSC as my first experience withe R rated tires.

Joe, you're welcome, my pleasure, good choice to go with the Hoosiers, but please be careful to check out and ensure you buy from a good batch, because that particular tire is known to have spontaneous leak problems from a prior bad batch. Just a thought.
