Opinions on my 2004 GT3 value
May 2004 Porsche 911 GT3, 35,000 miles, under warranty until May 2008 or 50,000 miles. Available for PPI under buyer's expense. All maintenance records.
Never crashed, never in an accident. The only two times it went off track, it did it on soft grass at a Pocono East Autocross (wet grass, 2nd gear) and North course hairpin (2nd gear). Never driven over curbs. Never hit anything hard underneath. No over revs.
Car has been used for street driving (office commute, weekend trips), autocross, DE, Concours and Time Trials.
The car has a SCCA Solo Nationals Championship in FPL and a second place in FP (by 0.7 secs) in 2006.
The car ran the 1/4 mile in 11.82 secs at 120.6 mph at Englishtown Raceway, NJ two years ago.

- Porsche MotorSports monoball inner bearings for the front and rear control arms. ($2,000).
- All the rubber has been removed from the suspension, other than the rear stock upper strut mounts, and rear toe links.
- GT3 Recaro Leather Seats
- Yellow Seat Belts to match brake Calipers
- Rear Spoiler 4° and 8° degrees shims
- GT3 Cup Steel LSD (replaces the stock brass weak unit)
- GT3 RSR Forged 4.00:1 Ring and Pinion Gear (replaces the stock long geared 3.44:1 unit)
- GT3 RS Lightweight Flywheel, with 3.8 RSR Pressure Plate and Clutch Disc
Transmission upgrades with parts and labor: $7,000
- 11 lbs Braille Battery with Billet Mount. One of the lightest batteries available for this car. Additional Optima Red Top Battery with Euro mounts to use on the stock tray.
- Brey-Krause Fire Extinguisher Mount with SafeCraft-Amerex Fire Extinguisher
- 19" Carrera Sport Wheels. Center Painted Silver Gray, and polished lips.
Front Wheels: 19" x 10" ET 42 with Michelin Pilot Sports 2 265/30R19
Rear Wheels: 19" x 11.5" ET 67 with Michelin Pilot Sports 2 305/30R19
- Yellow Brake Calipers, with rear rotors updated to 350mm (instead of 330mm stock). Metal rotors without cracks.
I would like to get feedback on what I should get for this car
The car will be for sale as soon as I can find my new ride.
Note:
I have the following parts on hold not included in the sale, because I might use them on my new ride, or put them for sale. Close to $15k on parts, that even at half price would put my car on a different price range. I doubt that including these parts with the car could find me a buyer faster.

- Latest generation 996 GT3 Cup Toe Links with spacers for bump steer fine tuning, full monoball, triple tread.

The suspension and driveline mods should more than make up for the miles in the eye of a track-minded prospect. I'd think 70-75 now that you're in year'round track country with a big market.

I think you need to back into the pricing by determining what a stock Gt3 with 35k miles is worth. My guess is about $62k. Then take all you modifications you list ($12k by what you have outlined; I bet it is more than that) and put a discount factor in. I think it is somewhere around 1/3 of cost. So you looking at $66k ish. However, you are going to have to find someone who is going to use the car exactly as you have. For example, the lightweight fly wheel is great for quick revs; but sounds like a bucket of bolts. And the change in gearing may not be all that great for the highway. Not saying this is not a well sorted autocross car, but you have certainly limited your potential market. I do like the color (I have a Seal Grey 2005!). Good luck with the sale.

I think it will be tough to get more than 62K out of a highly modified GT3 with a lot of high stress track miles on it. Good luck though- There's a buyer out there for everything if you're patient enough.

i woiuld say 60-65k tops.
i know the car is well set up but here is my logic (and i have tried to sell a very well moded, much like your GT3, e36m3)......
the general public will avoid your car like a plague. 35k miles is when the car explodes and self destructs, so they say.... when i tried to sell my 20k mile GT3, from the expression of the general public buyers, you would think my car had 200k miles, i am not kdding.
the track newbies often are not willing to pay the big bux for a car that's already set up. they HAVE TO buiid one on their own and suffer the big $$$ loss. i know well b/c i am one of those idiots.
the die hard racers want a car that's ALL done, cage, fire ext.... blah blah and then pay you 40% of your cost and your labor is worth zero to them.
sorry about the ugly pix but i have been kicked in the ***** too many times selling these cars.
but if you are patient, unlike ME, you may be able to get 70k.

Fortunately, I'm not in a hurry. Indeed I'm planning to install a Rollbar and harness in the next two weeks, to run some of the beautiful tracks in Southern California.
By the way, if I'm not lucky enough to find the new ride at a decent price (997 RS, as the GT2 is overpriced and the other 7GT has a hole), I would have to get a car from another brand (Thank you Porsche for making a mandatory Sunroof on the 7GT3). If I'm forced to do that, I will keep the 6GT3.

Just remember that the turns are named, not numbered.
It’s actually not too expensive to take out the sunroof. Ask “grussell” or contact 911 design in LA. They can deal with all that.

I just bought a car like yours. It had 16,000 miles with similar upgrades. As you know, I am not so sure about the setup but that can certainly be changed. I was specifically looking for a track car with those kinds of mods. Had I known yours was available, it would have been a viable candidate.
If you'll wait for the right buyer I would think you could get $70K. I think you could sell it quickly at $62K and the truth is there isn't much difference between those two numbers.

As funny as it sounds, I'm stopping by 911 Design this Friday for a 997 GT3 RS rollbar. I'm testing the fitment in the 996 GT3, if it works I'll get it.
A solid roof 7GT3 is an option.

I need to see it at the track, with my car there at the same time, and look at lap times. If they're not that far apart, I will have to wait for the next generation GT3s or an used 997 GT2, that's another two years with my loyal toy.
