Default Raising the ride height on the 996 GT3

For those of you running at tracks with jumps and crossing curbs, what ride height are you guys running?

What dampers are you running? I don't think its just ride height, but also body control from good dampers. Why not speak to Manthey as the ring is about as bumpy as it reasonably gets...

The car is supposed to stay stock - so damper change is out of the picture.

Stock ride height as far as I know. Look here picture taken at the Nurburgring 2006. No problems.

Got stock already - Brake Ducts at jumps & curbs and especially front lip at carousel take severe beatings.

Consider it normal having to replace ducts and lip! I have the Cup scoops and lip and yes it scrapes at the carousel, at curbs and Breidscheid but what the hell!

Scrape is an understatement. The Carousel "ate" my lip last weekend. Half of it was sitting one feet back under the car

I still got problems though crossing curbs at normal tracks.

Sounds like your shocks are bottoming out. Many other lower cars than a GT3 roadcar can still manage.

Magnus

How old are the shocks? It may be that they are due foir replacement/servicing. Why not leave the car at Manthey for a week?

Magnus, I gues the Carousel ate your lip and brake scoops when you exit right? If you get the exit out of the Carousel wrong, you can end up losing alot more than your your splitter and brake scoops. Hasn't happend to me (yet) but I have some frinds that have managed to do some serious damage exiting the carousel incorrectly.

Manthey set my car up for my first trip to the 'Ring last week (They jsut installed their Kw's and unibal strut tops) They set the fr height at 112mm, and the rear at 122mm. I was so used to having the car be on the ground from running at fast smooth tracks that it looked like a 4x4 incomparison! - but after one lap I was a believer.

You're right. I had the car out on the track last week and there is definitely something fishy about them. A nice KW setup is tempting - but I'm determined to keep the car stock. At least this one - I have some plans for another car though....

Makes sense. Still it sounds like the car is lower than factory spec. If I recall the front is 115-120 and rear 128-133 on stock?
