i think you want BBS motorsport, not BBS. there is a big difference in price and qty. AFAIK, tire rack does not carry BBS motorsport. chk carnewal.com or PM GT3 chuck. he has those on his car.

If Volk makes a CE28 for the 911, this is the lightest forged wheel made.

I saw both the CCW AND Volk wheels today at Watkins Glen. Interestingly, when I looked at the CCW's on one guys corvette I thought they looked rather poorly finished. Now, I know why after reading the post above about machining. They look good from afar but up close I'd prefer more polish. I need to call those guys and find out about finishes, I guess. The price, style and weight are all to my liking. Also the guy who had them raved about the service he got from CCW when caught short of time to get new wheels. All good, just the finish deal for me.

Another guy had the Volk TE37's on his GT3. They look great, nice finish, lots of cooling and easy to clean. I took pics but don't have a transfer cable with me until I get home.

I'm still on the fence until I see what CCW can do with finishing. Being used to BBS and OZ they looked a bit unfinished to me even for track wheels.

Tire Rack has the TE37s in our sizes. Looks like about $2700 for the set. These are probably the wheels I will pull the trigger on one day.

Just ordered the Volk TE37's with MPSC tires. They weigh 18f/20r lb's. The Cup tires weigh more than the rims at 22/25lbs for a package weight of 40lb fronts, and 45lb's rear.

Has anyone got an actual weight for stock wheels?

I looked at the CCW's on Monday and the styling is nice the finish is less detailed (by design, clear anodized, not painted and clear coated) and they weigh a bit more too. I also saw the Volk's on Monday and the combination of clean look, easy to clean, finish and light weight has won me over.

I did not shoot a pic of the CCW's on Monday and Tuesday they were gone. John at CCW says he is close to releasing a ten spoke C-10 which is lighter than his C-14 and the same look. He does tire wheel packages too. Tough decision for me overall, I bet the CCW C-10's would make for an even harder decision because they would be lighter and easier to clean but they are not available now.

Two business days from Tire Rack on the set right now.

Here's what I got when I weighed my wheels. All weights taken with tires mounted. Used the bathroom scale method, so no guarantees on accuracy, but I think it gives a decent comparison of relative weights.

Stock wheels with PS2 tires:
Front 46 lbs. each.
Rear 52 lbs. each.

BBS wheels with MPSC tires:
Front 38 lbs. each.
Rear 42 lbs. each.

Eek Dell!!! I'm going to have to assume your scale reads higher than Hooligan's, a front NT-01 can't be a full 9 pounds heavier than a PS2 (55 vs 46#), can it???

OK, just went and scaled them and I reported the front wrong initially. I am 198.0 and the rears in my arms I weighed 255.5(R) and 249.0(F). The fronts are 245's and the rears are 315's sitting on OEM GT3 wheels.

F:51#
R:57.5#

as they say down south of the border.......aye chihuahua

Hmmm, that suggests the front NT01 tire is still 6 pounds heavier than the MPSC, which would make it ~28# vs 22... Tire experts, is that difference possible? Or Dell, are your wheels really, really, really dirty???

as tires, nitto and RA1 are much heavier than mpsc.

i love those volks wheels. too bad they dont work for 997's. so light and at their prices, buy a set every other season.
