I figured you got confused with the Toyo sizes. Anyway, please post back your experience with any new pressures you test out.

36 hot worked pretty well for me at WSIR. There is a drop in grip as the pressure exceeds around 44. After several continuous laps my *** came around unexpectedly. I came into the pits to find the rears at 45.

Cool Don't forget a pyrometer..

tires that gett hotter than 225 F are usually toast...or headed in that direction. TP doesn't always tell all IMHO....

Yes, good point. I also posted tire temps (either in this thread or the other one). Nitto told me 180-220 which I assume as well is standard for most of the tires we are running.

Cool Also consider a set of Hankook Z214 tires from ...

Frisby tire. I am on my second set, very impressive. My set with 12 heat cycles is very strong...even compared to my set with 5 heat cycles. They are about $100 a set less than Hoosiers...and Hankook has a big contingency fund for you racer types. I am kooky for Hankooks!

I work ONLY with Discount Tire. The asst. mgr there has really gone above and beyond for me in the short six months that I have been giving him my tire business. I have been through about 6 individual tires on my other cars (built a new home, NAILS ) and then now a set of track tires. He was able to order them and they took about a week to get in. He made sure he beat (not match, but beat) the lowest price I found and took great care in the moutning and balancing. I will ONLY let him handle my orders from this point forward.

I think my total bill was about $1200 out the door.

I checked Discounts website, but no mention of the Nittos. I'll have to go in and check. What price point do you have for the front tires?

Vic,

You've been out to Streets and now Big Willow on consecutive weekends. What's the wear look like? How do they compare to the RA-1's and MPSC?

go to disconttire.com and "search by brand" and go from there. It is a pit picky though in that you have to enter exactly the size you want. If the tire does not come in that size it won't just list them. Price point is as follows:

205/55ZR-14 85W BLK $142.00
205/50ZR-15 86W BLK $154.00
245/50ZR-16 97W BLK $184.00
205/40ZR-17 80W BLK $174.00
225/45ZR-17 91W BLK $188.00
245/45ZR-17 95W BLK $199.00
275/40ZR-17 98W BLK $221.00
245/40ZR-18 93W BLK $241.00
315/30ZR-18 98W BLK $327.00

I'm at a cross road guys. I have a set of new MPSC for the rears, but need fronts. I was going to go with the MPSC on the fronts, but now this discussion is swaying me. I know, I know about the "don't use different tires on the same car theory", but I don't buy too much into that. Especially since the rears wear out appx. twice as fast at the fronts. If I go with MPSC on the fronts, I'm stuck for a while.

I have a track event in 1 month at Vegas and need to make the decision soon. I'm also waiting to see what Vic says about wear. Basically I love the RA-1's and want to find a tire as close to it as possible.

Another question about the Nittos' Vic (damn, I'm full of them today), based on your comment, I assume you spun at Big Willow when your temps got up to 45 PSI. Did the Nittos let you know you were going to spin, did they talk to you? The MPSC have a tendancy to get let go with little to no warning.

Pete, how many rears do you go through BEFORE you replace the fronts in the MPSC?
