Default noise in the bay area

this is fo the San Fran guys: Does Sears and T-Hill have db guidlines? Are there days where you can be louder then others? I run fabspeed headers,100cell cats and muffler. Would that pass @ Sears? It was no problem @ T-Hill last year
I know L.S. is restrictive, do they have any noisy days?
In Seattle our track is all out except Monday and Tuesday

Thanks

the only noisy days at Laguna are for the pros...for the rest of us they have 90db days (got blackflagged with the stock GT3 exhaust) and 92db (no problem for stock exhaust)...Sears and T-hill have different sound limits for different events...and every year there is talk of stricter limits...so check your specific event

ps...I've never seen a sound limit at Thunderhill or Buttonwillow and have run muffler bypass at both.

As noted, only Champ Car, IRL, ALMS, etc. get a pass on noise at LS.

Most of the time, no limits at Thunderhill and Buttonwillow, but different organizations do impose their own limits at times. Sears varies. You should check with the org doing the event.

Yeah, best bet is to check with the group putting on the show for the day. I ran with a few different groups this year ('06) at Thunderhill that SAID they would be monitoring for sound, but I think it was a scare tactic for the most part. I came with stock mufflers and wish I hadn't because there were several LOUD cars there with no issues....

However, at Infineon, I saw them black flag a guy in a tricked and VERY VERY fast NSX (blew past me like I was in a Yugo) for sound, and I did not think it was loud at all. Modified exhaust prolly wouldn't have flown there. YMMV, Tim

i dont think you have a chance at LS. the best is 92 db. holger has muffler bypass and no go.

TH, i think you are fine. bypass pipes are over 100 db no prob.

i know SP has limits but it's about 100db or so, most race cars pass unless you are into the realm of nascars noise level.

when are you coming down to play?

Like Mooty said Kip's NSX is wickedly fast-him included : (. His enclosed trailer is sick too. Regards. Mike. LS-no way but Thill/sears not a problem-Holger has his harley exhaust at thill and no issues.

It was the red one, I swear! LOL

Yeah, it was Red and SC'ed. I stopped by and chatted a bit with him when he was doing his muffler swap. That car is pretty damn tricked out. All sorts of nice track bits on it! It got me thinking.....lol. naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I like my GT3 just fine!

After the hairpin, I looked back and saw the the NSX back a ways...by the time I was starting to set up for T1, I was like WTF.....and he was movin on by. That car is wicked fast.....to catch a GT3 in full accel like it was some bucket...damn.

Did this setup pass at sears point? I am thinking of getting the mufflers if it will pass sound at sears point.

Thanks.
