I was aiming at 35F/38/R. which were attained when the track was wet. On the last laps, with a nearly dried track , I checked again - when finising - the pressures, as the car was getting slippery.. : too high at the rear ( 42 R ) .

PS. IMPORTANT: I tried them first with -3,5º Camber Front and - 3º Rear... Impossible tyres. Going back to - 2,5º F and - 2,2º REAR they behave splendidly... I insist : splendidly.

I wanted to revive this old thread. I am looking at buying R-Compunds for the track, and am deciding between MPSCs and R888. I currently run MPSC and like them. Mooty is a huge fan of the R888s, so I fugure they are worth a look.... From other posts, the best vendor for the Toyo R888 is Bob Woodman in SC. Their price for all 4 standard-sized tires is $1100 plus shipping. Buying MPSC from TireRack comes out to $1248 plus shipping. Where is this huge cost savings?
My core issue with MPSC's is that I am only getting 5 track days out of a set with no street driving as I keep the car at the track. I need to make some toe/camber changes, so hope to improve on that number...
What do you guys think? Any other tires that I should look at? I am resisting slicks until I can make the appropriate suspension changes (hopefully next winter)...
Thanks,
-Blake

930 miles on track
1230 on street
i believe i can get another 150 track miles before i cord the rear.
there are no heat cycle limitations. you WILL cord the cord before you harden the rubber.
but your car is garaged on track, why not use hoosiers?
