MPSCs are fine - as long as it doesn't rain or snow, and the pavement isn't frozen.... Seriously, they are great track tires and make decent street tires. Just be more cautious when in the elements with them... mine hydroplane VERY easily... To that end, I plan to have a set of PS2s on another set of rims for those rainy days at the track...
A QUESTION: My track days are DE not racing. How bad is it to drive to/from the track on the MPSC?
Well it all depends on condition of the tires and how many track days you have on them. I had @ 500 miles on new MPSC's with 1 cold track day at Pocono in April on them so basically they were new. I drove to Watkins Glen and back home (280 mi. each way) this week plus 350 track miles and the tires were fine. Going up it rained for last 100 miles and the tires were just ok. When it rained hard I could feel the fronts hydroplaning and I had slow down to 30 mph and stop sometimes until the rain slowed. The ride home (dry) was uncomfortable at best as car tramlined all over the place.
Needless to say the MPSC's are great track tires and decent street tires when new and unabused.
I am going to have to work up alternate transportation for my next event.

42k miles. Last 20k, 1/4 track, 3/4 driving to or from track. I know a guy here with a GT3 with 120k miles on the clock, many of which on track, and the car still dynoes 10 hp above what it was supposed to when new. These engines go on and on.
if you asked the same question to a German audience the average mileage would probably a multiple
In my case it is the lack of a rear seat. Did not think about it when I got the car new as my wife and I had no children. Have a 2 year old now and since the GT3 is 1 of 4 cars I use it rarely.
Even though, I love the car and other than some initial thoughts on swapping out for a C2S, etc., I am keeping it. Also it is becoming more of a track oriented car and there are few cars better than a 996 GT3 in that environment.
