Looking at all the people that are on this site and will not buy the car the number looks like it is <50. What multinational company would spend any money at all for 50 people. the answer is zero.

I didn't write (but I made a big stink about it in a Porsche focus group recently if that counts for anything). I'm still very happy with my GT3 and am not ready to let it go yet.

I didn't mean to belittle your efforts, but parts of his reply to your letter seem somewhat sincere while other parts are just comical.

Were I in the market for the new GT3, I would certainly be joining you!

I got the same exact letter back from Porsche... the only difference is my cc is: Steve Harrington. I also complained about the watered down RS which was or course was not addressed in the response.

You not in the market now, but you might be in the future.

Granted Rennlist only reaches a small % of the Porsche community, tho it may seem large.

This is more about expressing your view towards the future and purity of the brand. Cost to you 39¢.
There are no guarntees...but a flood of opinions can't hurt.

Just venting

When did their marketing department become engineers?

i don't see anything like that?

i do think the statement "the decision to include a sunroof . . . . was well researched by our
engineers in weissach" which is either poorly worded or misrepresenting the facts.
maybe he meant to communicate that the engineers researched keeping the vehicle as rigid,
with no decrease in headroom, and little increase in weight up high?
but if that were the case it obviously should have been worded differently.
maybe he was using the term engineers loosely and was referring to
focus group organizers as engineers of sort

but i do agree with brian / mjones that writing to let them know of a your
personal displeasure with their decision on the sunroof is a good thing!

Complaining is worth it - $.39, never buying a 997 GT3 or GT3 RS with sunroof - priceless !

Exactly. An idea; those that are really displeased with the sunroof but are buying new should at the very least not buy new and, if they really want it, pick up a 997GT3 on the used market. You'll save yourself ~$20k, and better still mess with Porsche's sales figures. I personally won't be buying new or used...
