As an observation we are mixing PCCB comparisons across generations, akin to comparing a 993 with a 997 at the moment...

Am undecided whether to spec my GT3 with PCCB's...primarily because they seem to be very much a Work in Progress....

Still it is apparent that Gen 2 has an improved track record (no pun), unsurprising given the several orders of magnitude increase in fibre density, and concerted efforts to improve fluid (air) flow through them.

If they're changing after every race I would pass on them.

Bill, so when are you getting the GT3? I have a June allocation/ July build 997TT spec'd and ready to go.

Manthely racing perhaps would not agree..they are apparently changing the gen2 pads for every race in their 997 GT3 cup cars as they are wearing much as before.

Increasing the fibre density might have the effect of reducing the heat flow out of the disc as the heat transfer may be slower across the denser material so although there may be a greater resistance to the heat build up in the first place the disc will run even hotter thus creating the conditions for rapid excessive wear...which is ok on the track where the discs are replaced after every meeting but not too good for the road.....at £10,000+ for new front discs,,,,,

Paul - rather depends on what happens with the Nusselt # doesn't it?
