First hint of a watered down GT3RS for U.S. with a price
If they sell this car under $120k, the car will be a strong seller.
I paid $110k for my 996 GT3.
Just consider that the 997 GT3RS without a rollbar should be around 100 lbs lighter.
GT3RS to be sold in U.S.

the price is fixed at $126k as per PNA.
my impression based on the marketing and the price difference to stock GT3 is that we will get the ROW version, or equivelent, of the car. It will be a real "RS". It won't be an "RSA". They will probably employ some smart work arounds with DOT etc. to accomplish this
for example, the RS will probably come with the roll bar, but it might be in a box for the user to install at their option and liability
porsche doesn't want to create two different versions of the car as it will be more expensive to make and less profitable

This will be no RSA this will be the real deal. Lexan, roll bar and seats notwithstanding...I still think at $126K it's one good deal...just ask our EU friends what they're paying for it or as Poon said above "about £22k less than its list price" for Her Majesty's subjects.
Let's enjoy Porsche's dollar hedging while it last's!

The seats alone are worth $6k from the dealer. Rollbar and installation, another $3k, Lexan another $1k. At $126k it will be a bargain.
I hope Porsche builds as many as they can sell and more, as they have done with every Porsche lately (including the CGT). That will bring the chance to buy one on the used market at $100k or probably less if the car is Orange and it has PCCB. Sad but true.

I don't think they can price any lower...it's already going to affect "regular" GT3 sales and if the price divide was less then I believe it would affect it even more...

By that rationale then the 996 GT3 was an RSA because it didn't have the ROW GT3 seats.
Here's a question would you have wanted/bought a 996 GT3RS if the only difference was that it didn't come with a rollbar and or lexan windows? Remember we didn't get the seats anyway. Be honest, I know my answer would be a resounding yes and I believe many of you would answer the same.
Seats, a rollbar and lexan windows don't make the RS what it is and not having them doesn't make it an RSA.
