Smile Removal of front lip spoiler

Has any one heard that the 996 gt-3 handles better without the front lip spoiler.I heard removal reduces lift on the rear? What do you think?

X2 I'm with John...I can see no way a properly set up GT-3 would handle better without the front spoiler...the front would get very light over 100mph and would be no fun to drive...the additional lift in front would make the rear feel heavier (more planted) in comparison but the nose would be all over the place...hey John, you gonna rip yours off?

one came off on front straight of TH at 110mph.
one came off at cotton corner at BW when i was hunted by a GT2 thus i took the shorter dirtier route ;-)
one came off at sunset at BW, i seem to have forgotten to brake and got my car dirty, LOL.

LOL. I just used a few well placed screws to secure my splitter to the bumper. It is pretty damn solid now...I doubt it would hold up during an "agricultural excursion", but it doesn't come off now with a light tap against a parking curb or slopping driveway... :-) Ghetto, yes. Functional, yes. Less headaches, hell yes.

Z06Keven, you can check with ViperBob. The dealer charges $255 for the regular stock piece of plastic. Right now these splitters are in short supply from Porsche NA. Most of the Porsche suppliers such as Devek, Racers Group, etc will have the cup splitter with will be much less than the stock Porsche part.
