Larry, I didn't try the shims with the stock GT3 wing (probably should have...just didn't think of it...thought the shims were only for the RS wing )...have you been running the RS wing with no shims? If so what front splitter?...thanks

Chuck, I ran the RS wing with no shims and found it to be noticably better than that stock one on the faster tracks. There are 2 tracks with 4th gear climbing esses (the Glen & VIR) that really test the grip of the back of the car, and you can feel the difference that wing adjustments make. When I added the 4 degree shims to the RS wing, the back end was planted. I still have the stock splitter on the front.

leif997,
I was concerned last year when we had our chicane closed for awhile, that the car was quite light at 160 mph. So, I tipped the wing up a bit and put some junk in there for spacers, not knowing how many degrees I had. Probably 1-2 degrees. I thought I would go with some known adjustment now. I still would need to lower the front of the car a bit. Anyone know that height adjustment for the front end using 4% shims? Our track is flat and fast, but I don't want to start building understeer into the car.

The RS wing extends much wider than the stock GT3 wing, putting it out in cleaner air flow by the sides of the car. I think that is what makes it more effective with less rake, and of course creates less drag with less rake.

Do you need the shim? I saw a 6RS today that had a sharper angle than stock on its wing ....
but no shim and a bit of the metal showing. Is the shim just to provide supoort so the tightening screw doesn't have to?

Thanks John - just good recycling! Can I get them in white or do they all come in that faded red? Hmmm ... Considering my color scheme, red might work just fine !

Since Tom is using the 8deg aka air brakes you can have his 4d shims.

If you try to just tighten the torx with a little tilt in your wing, then the downforce will push the wing back down to flat. The shims are to hold the angle of attack. The torx bolt does not get loaded.

My 4 degree shims are long gone! Besides, I've got my new wing on now - and it has risers Wing is lifted about an inch above the uprights into (somewhat) cleaner air. I suppose you could have my 8 degree shims if you wanted them.
