Pull a fuse at the drivers side feet.

Will it affect anything in the cars computers. It sounds like you have done it. How did the brakes work?

At the Porsche DE the turn it off for skid control... it locks the wheels with ease.
The abs is working without you knowing it... there is something out there that reduces the application of the abs for motorsports.

Not a good idea. I tried it already. The front wheels lock up too much. It doesn't feel like a non ABS car. Just pull the ABS fuse.

I also tried to disconnect the switch on the brake pedal, to allow for left foot braking. Again, the front wheels lock up on light brake pressure.

I agree with NJ on this one. I have had the ABS go out on the track, and the car does not feel like a non ABS car. It feels very off. The fronts lock up at a touch of the pedal and the rears don't. You will flat spot very easily, without actually helping with braking.

I think this is due to to much front brake bias.. by design...to much front brake bias helps prevent corner entry, trail braking, oversteer.

What seems to make sence is going to a one level stickier rear brake pad, that should help brake bias.
By doing different pads .. changing bias.. it would only make sence that it would improve braking overall.

Leif - no he isn't kidding. I know several people who use a more aggressive pad (Pagid Black) on the back and a Pagid RS 19 Yellow in front.

FWIW I can't understand why you'd want to disable ABS on a GT3 anyway. It works very well - way better than my 993 which used to freak out on bumpy surfaces.

the reason I asked was that the 99 cup car run PCCB and no ABS. I also remember a thread suggesting that perhaps the rotor issue might be the ABS pounding away on hot rotors? Anyway having driven cars without ABS on the track before so if it would work witho try.ut causing a problem eith the car it might be worth the try.

Robertga - Best is to find someone who will give us the magic pin out to get the full racing ABS. I have been told that the ABS computer has the algorithms built in but you have to re-pin the connector.

seems like defeating abs is a problem when you don't have a brake bias adjuster like race cars. Perhaps that is what you will need to effectively defeat abs in this car...otherwise, you are obviously, as stated above, better with abs on, imho

I run Performance friction pads. I run 097 fronts and 01's rear.

It is the equivalent of Pagid's Orange front and black rear.

or get this from Manthey Motors http://www.manthey-motors.de/nextsho...de=html&id=965

at only Euro 3390 plus installation Euro 285 but should be the best around for track purpose.
