Default Looked at GT3 Today

Went to Rusnak in TO to look at a used '05 with 3400 miles, black/black. Asking $107K. Options that I could see were:

Aluminum gage rings and GT3 door sills, alum on the ebrake and shifter too.
Twin exhaust tips
Zenon lights

Upgraded Alpine MP3 XM stereo (which I hated due to it's chrome head unit)

That was about it.

Not full leather, no color stitching, seemed like a lightly optioned car that they seem to be asking original sticker for.

The car looked really nice (hell, it's brand new). That 6 year 100,000 mile warranty is very attractive.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Way to much. Look on Autotrader or Dupont Registry. You can get an 05 with under 5k miles for 95K. I've seen a few new ones with a reasonable set of options in the low 107 to 110 range. A guy just had his for sale on this website. It was an 05 with 1187 miles, good options and some aftermarket equipment, for 93K. I tried to buy it but it was too late, sold.

Fred, Carl in Santa Barbara (4carl) was selling his black/black GT3 for $85K I believe. His car is very nice, although I am not sure if it has been sold already.

The price seemed high to me and I have no idea what the dealer paid for it. The Porsche Certified is worth some $, not sure how much though? For me, warranty is a huge plus and since this would be a daily driver, I would rack up 15-20 each year so the 100K mile warranty would be nice.

04 and 05 cars are identical, i had both.
since you'll use it as daily driver having last year car is meaningless. and the car at rusnak is too $$$ imo.

I'm looking at about the same thing here on the East coast. There are a lot of $105k plus dealer/CPOs and a lot of $90-95k private cars. I'm wondering about CPO vs aftermarket warranty also. I may take the C2 in and see what he'll give me. I like the one I'm looking at but the only thing I really care about is PCCB....I don't want it!

If it doesn't work out I'll keep looking. In the last month the number of GT3s on the Porsche website has jumped to over 25 from about 16. As more come available, I'd hope the prices will come down. My fingers are crossed.

I'm gonna get one somewhere!

"Unfortunatley" my 2004.9 Artic Silver will soon be available (Florida car). The car is has 6000 miles and is in "showroom" condition. I will assure you that you will not find a GT3 in better condition. You can PM me if you are interested.

It is on the Porsche Cars NA website. Then go to "pre-owned" and follow the directions.

Other sites: PCA and, of course, Rennlist

Buy Carl's car in Santa Barbara. it is very well taken care of and that is a very fair price. He is keeping the 2. He is on vacation rt. now but the ad is in the LA Times.

rdstemler: Will your dad forgive you for not following his Turbo lead and getting a NA track car?
