Angry 89 Oct Gas

Ok, laugh at me...

I got distracted at the gas station and used 89 oct gas instead of 93...

No side effects, right?

The manual says 90 is the minimum. Drive easy for 1/4 tank and fill up with highest octane available in your area and you'll be fine.

Hey Holger,

That is what I did. I kept the revs as low as possible and once I got 1/4 off the tank down I filled up with 93 oct again... I still can't believe I got distracted like that!

Thanks buddy...

Wish I could get 93 here. We have the highest prices in the nation and the best I can do locally is 91.

I've actually thought about buying a station and offering 96 (mix of 91 & 100 that they sell @ Sears Point). Lots of high end cars in this area that could use better juice, but none of the gas stations have figured it out yet.

Come to PA. Sunoco sells 94 octane unleaded.

the car will be running in 'limp mode' but as long as you don't put too much stress on the engine, it should be fine.

must not do it again!

Holger, we get 92, at 2.85/gallon. Not far behind you, and there's a .09 gas tax coming.

I just paid $ 3.30/Gallon for 95 in Vancouver, Canada. I'd pay it if we could get 95 here. That's perfect for all my cars.

RevUrGT3, see if you can get a few gallons of unleaded 100 from a race shop, mix in 3 or 4 , fix your car up, real quick.

Why don't the oil companies offer a range of fuel octanes ? I don't get it.

Ivan,

There's only one solution to your mishap. Drive it straight to Texas World Speedway and fill up with 100 octane race gas. Oh, and while you are there, prolly should get some hot lapping in.

I'm missing the 5/27 open lapping day, but will make the 6/10 day. Take the day off work and lets go!
