Default Arctic Silver paint.....

I have had my car side by side with an 01 TT, and 04 GT2 and and C2......Mine does not have the taupe, or brown tint the others do?, doesn't have a blue tint either. Is the AS on the GT3 different? Could they have mislabled my sticker?

Polar silver has a blue tint- I had a 993 coupe in that colour and I loved it. Porsche wanted over 3K for polar silver on the GT3 whereas arctic silver was 1K IIRC. BTW, I had an Audi TT roadster in Lake Silver and it was different than the 996. My original 1971 914 is Metallic Silver and that too is completely different when you put them all side to side. Go figure.

IF all the cars were arctic silver, it may be due to the different formulations that porsche uses over the years

porsche has changed the formula several times, thats why you need to give them your VIN when they are matching paint.

also, paint ageing can be a factor.

My GT3 has the tan tint to it as well. I believe there are 3-4 different code numbers for AS. Check on the car to get your particular color code.

All the other cars are arctic silver. There is a noticable taupe tint to all of them,..like someone above said, mine looks pure silver especialy when wet. All the others look the same. Its strange.

Arctic has some gold hues in certain lighting conditions. Polar has blue hues, Meridian has a red hues. All dominate as silver base. The Arctic has the least noticeable gold hue in comparison. Atleast to my eyes.
