Default Great weekend at Streets of Willow

At the POC Short Track Series event. Not only was the weather great (cool, if a bit "breezy") but I had a fantastic class duel with my friend Henrik and my wife Marnye completed her 2nd and 3rd STS and earned her license (despite a little weed mowing).

The serious driver gets ready to head out for her 3rd session on Sunday:

After the "mowing incident" a little brake duct repair was in order:

Great pics Kevin!
I'm glad you elected not to mention who came out on top!!!
What a fun day it was (Sunday). And as you mentioned; what a blast it is to be able to go at it and have such a close battle. It just gives it that extra feeling of "yeah that was awesome" when pulling off the track.
I look forward to June now and hopefully we can get even lower yet!
See ya at the track!

Girls too in this case since both Henrik's wife Monica and my wife Marnye were competing. We should organize a husband & wife race team competition!

I agree - and the most fun I had all day was when we were nose to tail in the 3rd session. Those 3 or 4 laps were great fun - watching you slide the car was great and I was laughing to myself, thinking "I've got him now" only to slide myself!

The whole STS experience is so much more enjoyable because you and Monica are there.

I think it's important that your friends know how fast the two of you have become in the past few months. From times in the mid 1:15's last November and January, to scorching mid 1:12's this past weekend is really quite remarkable, and a testament to the progressions of your personal driving skills.
Of course I know this first-hand as I painfully watched you both through my windshield.....

Thanks John. We owe it all to the fact we push each other... and to Craig Stanton who has coached us both.

It also helps that we drive one of the finest cars on the planet!

This past weekend was one of the funnest times I've ever had at the track.

Thanks John (and Kevin),
This is a true example of friendly competition at it's best

Streets of Willow is the true training grounds for learning ultimate car control. I really feel safe pushing the car more and more on that track, and that is all I want to do, aside from of course hanging with you guys. -Lap times mean nothing to me
Next time you see my car, I will have a new licence plate in honor of Craig: SMOOOTH

Ahem, John....

I'd like to add that jrgordonsenior knocked off 1.7 seconds off his time, too...Great job, John.
