The only thing that's for sure in those pictures are that they are taken in Sweden and that it's a Porsche.

no way the turbo will share the aerokit with the C2. (we know the aerokit looks like that because it is now availible as an option).
the aerokits have traditionally been shared iwth the GT3.
that said, there is a new vent on the front bumper, and the central exhaust this may be a GT3 or just a test mule for the cup cars

They will sell the 1,000 or more in 18 months.
Here's how:
They install a sunroof, the Bose premium sound system, 19" wheels, Navigation, Heated seats, power seats, rear seats, a softer suspension , a LOT of sound insulation and the necessary evil to keep the price low: the wet sump engine.

likely its to dispel all the RMS hysteria and perhaps develop that engine further.
most importantly, if the new GT3 is going to be an overloaded pig, it will really solidify (and it really pains me to say this) their sellout strategy.
all the better for 996 GT3 residuals, some may refer to it as the last true driver's porsche?
ive already seen the 996 GT3 topping many all time best porsches/cars lists.

There was a wonderful debate(?) on the 997 board on this point. I don't understand much of the speculation when the 997 Cup car has been released. I could be wrong but the 997 Cup car needs to be homologated by the 997GT3.

as for the homologation, this is true for the races held by the larger organizations, but unneccessary for things like the supercup and carrera cup (which are operated and regulated by porsche itself)

You nailed it. There are only so many hard core enthusiasts out there and they haven't even finished selling all the 996 GT3's even though production ended months ago. The only way to move the 997 GT3 here is to soften it up and broaden its appeal, sort of a 997S+. As Moogle pointed out, this means good things for our residuals.

NOT a GT3 for obvious reasons:
19' wheels
Standard seats
Too high stance
Still think it's a Turbo test mule (S body with Turbo engine) just look at the intercooler vents on the engine lid/wing. Whatever it is, it's something special since it is sportingbigger brakes than the 997S.
Let us all just stop speculating and wait for the final product. Dealers have no info on 997 GT3 and all Motorsport (GT,2 and 3) cars are launched in the autumn and dealers should have been informed if the 997 GT3 was to be launched by autumn 2005.

Speculation is fun.
However the discussion(if you can call it that) on the 997 forum seems to have got slightly out of hand.
I dont know why everybody is getting so heated about what is pure conjecture at the moment.

I'm with quartermile. 997 mock up with aerokit. The driver of this car must be ballsey to drive a Gt3 on snow covered roads with all that HP and no driver aids. I'll hopefully be picking up my second hand GT3 on Good Friday. So I'll learn soon enough what all the buzz is about. I'm comming out of an 01 boxster so I'll need any input you guys have as to how to drive it at the track, what to expect in road manners, braking, cornering etc. I made the jump to the GT3 because I don't want to pay 65K for a perfect 993 and dump 15k to make it track worthy and I'm not fond of the regular 996. A 997S would be ok but Why? for a few more $ you get a supercar without all the garbage gizmos. I must say I'm having a hard time sleeping waiting for delivery.
Gmund
01 Boxster - just left my garage
04 GT3 Artic silver metallic due in good friday

NOT..thats a very strong word. careful or Bob rouleau will lecture you about speaking your opinion too strongly. he might suggest. " it might not be" or "maybe it isnt a" please be considerate of the delicate feelings on the board
