Default Car cover suggestions

Well, soon the GT collection will be put to bed for the winter. I'd like to cover the cars to keep dust off. The only "blankets" the dealer has to offer in these parts are very expensive - around $500 C (400 US). With 2 GT3's and a GT2, that gets kinda spendy for a simple dust cover. A regular C2 ($300C) cover won't fit because of the spoiler. Anyone solved this problem already?

I picked one up from Covercraft. I think the TT, GT2, and GT3/996 w/ aerokit all use the same cover.

This is the one I got...

a bit cheaper...

I think Scott might still have his that he bought from Gert. He installed the CF RS wing and it does not fit anymore.

I'm quite suspicious of car covers. I wonder if possibly dust gets under them and the natural movement of air and heating & cooling moves the cover and causes abrasions?

But I have nothing to really back up that suspicion.

Certainly you don't want a heavy weight cover that will prevent the car from drying out properly.

Do not be suspicious of your car cover. It will not bite your car or trap nasty dust motes... These are mainly good for the track, when you want to leave the car out overnight.

I have an outfit in Calif. that has made custom Noah covers for my various RS cars with big rear wings. Could someone (Larry, Scott?) with an RS wing please send me measurements on the wing height (from bottom of car to top of wing) so I can get a quote? The last time I had them make me something custom it was about $200 in Noah fabric, If I recall.

Thx,

Lee in D.C.

I just bought a Noah car cover for my GT3. I highly recommend this product based on my experience I had with my M3, which was outdoors at the time. This time, I often use the Noah even though I have my GT3 in my garage.

Hey Bob,

I got my cover from Lauzon, it's a perfect fit and the cost is less than $200cdn.
You want 3 ?

You have to specify 996 with Aerokit for the GT3 and as for the GT2 I'm not sure, maybe the same as 996TT, you'd have to check.

If you want to check my cover out just ring the bell.

I bought this one from Gert@carnewal.com and its absolutely awesome. Unfortunately when I put on the GT3RS wing it no longer fit (I sold it). I have since ordered another for the GT3RS (haven't received it yet). I highly recommend it -- its gorgeous!

Do a search as we talked about this about 8-9 months ago. I got the Porsche tech cover for the 996 with aero kit which fits the spoiler fine and was under $200 from Suncoast. Has a nice Porsche crest on the front and a clear window in back for the plate.
