The fronts are the same but the rears are wider. And, yes the 2004 GT2 wheels do fit earlier model year 996 GT2's. If you are interested, here's where you can buy them.

Any input on tracking Fikse wheels ? I had FM/10's on my TT, and was happy with them. Here's their new Profil10

I use to have a set of fiske fm10's that I used as track wheels for my 996. I would highly recommend them. Wheel enhancemets told me they are on 6 week back order right now though.

With five track events on them, I'm very happy with my Kinesis K28's and Corsas. I saved 10# per wheel on the front and 11.5# in the rear with this combo. Although just yesterday, an instructor at Nelson Ledges was telling me that he broke a Kinesis K57. They replaced it but that set's in his garage and he's now running Fikses.

JG-- While you did save substantial weight with the Kinesis wheels, I'm afraid that those wheels don't weigh in at 14.8 (front) and 15.7 lbs (rear), which would be required to save 10 and 11.5 lbs (front and rear) over the stock GT3 wheels. BTW, the Corsas weigh virtually the same (within a pound) as the MPS2's.

With the 12" rims from the '04 GT2 is it worth running wider tires than the 315'S? Are tires in that size but wider even available?

Jack,
My son got on our bathroom scales, with and without the tire and wheels, and gave me the difference. I didn't check his math, but assumes the tire was lighter than the stock one as well as the wheel. The next time I have a wheel off we'll try it again!

Default Custom wheels

I had a set of Kinesis wheels made, 18/9 and 18/11. They fit great but you got to be patient, it took about 4 months to finally get them.

I am going check to see what they have for a GT3 next. I bet it is still going to be around 3k even with the certificate.
Bill,
Talk to David Schardt, he is now the owner (was partnered with his brother Steve). He will give you a fair price, and I bet it will be significantly less than the $3k WITHOUT the gift certificate.
He will remember you from the Club Race last year, I bet.

I would check with CCW wheels in Florida they will custom make any 3 piece wheels to your specific offset for about 2K. They are also very light I have a set for my 951 & they are just as light as my buddies BBS's for his GT3.

According to wheel enhancement, you save 19lbs total in unprung weight when switching from stock GT3 wheels to Kinesis..fyi They weigh approx 20 and 21 lbs respectively, front and rear each...

My friend Dean has FM-10's on his GT3. 9's and 11's with 245/305 RS304 Hoosiers, IIRC. Great fitment and performance on a completely "as delivered" car.

Here's a pic I took at LCMT on Tuesday.
