I've heard people changing the stock air filter on the GT3 to a BMC unit.
Has anyone done this, and is their much or any improvement?
What is the main benefit for changing it?

Just the fact that you can clean, re-oil and re-use the BMC as opposed to changing the stock one. There is nothing wrong with the Porsche factory filter.
A little more induction sound too, but not as noticeable as when switching the air filter on a stock 996 or 993. It is harder to hear the difference on a GT3 since the exhuast is louder in stock form.
