The official 996 GT2 price thread

just my opinion, but overall market for used high-dollar exotics/sports cars is softening. Stuff is selling for cheaper than 6 months ago for sure. A seller I guess you need to find someone willing to drop six figures in cash on a car from the early 2000's, or be willing to pay 10% car loan interest rate!
The white Canadian car seems like a great deal and I wish someone would buy it so I'm no longer tempted. 150(ish) for a white car with driver miles seems like a good deal (even without oem seats).

I do think $ is better parked on young special classics then the latest & greatest….
So it could be a good time to get into a GT2 on the market down swing but willing to hold for 5+ years to see a probable profit or at the most “keeping” its value. But then again- for enthusiasts that actually drive their cars is choosing wisely if you don’t want heavy depreciation- the guy who has the garage queen loses at the end of the day…

Craig, don't make the mistake I made and go test drive one. I did that about a month ago and it was not good for my mental health. The car was bone stock and was very fun to drive. Ugh. Why am I such a peasant?

Wonder what that car at Indigo could really be purchased for?
I've let a lot of good cars go in the past. But one I wish I would have purchased when I had a chance was a GR 996 GT2 about 10 years ago when I lived in WA. It had been driven a little but it was clean and had been maintained. The guy was going to let it go to me for low 50's. Someone else got a deal. 996 GT2s look so good from every angle.

But $50+K for a lightly used GT2 was amazing at that time. Ironic that the 996 GT3 and GT2 cars were a hard sell after the 997 appeared. My '04 GT3 sat on the dealer's lot for a month before I picked it up in 2006 with 5,500 miles. It will be 18 years of ownership this December 6th.
