@ScottArizona been waiting for this once since we exchanged messages! It is hard to be without your car (9 months in on mine), but the wait will be worth it!

This will indeed be interesting. I would be interested in the cams used and the tune...

Good luck Scott, and I am sure the finished product will be an absolute hoot!

Very excited to see the end product Scott. Looks like you might cost me some more money down the road. Every time I test drive yours, it costs me money. How long before you get it back?

Yeah, Scott! I'm not in the market for a displacement increase but that idea lingers. And I'll be taking notes... just in case

6 weeks is the “estimate”. Sounds ambitious but we shall see! Some of that may depend on parts availability but I got my fingers crossed!

Parts availability is what killed my schedule! Couple parts had to be sourced from Germany and they took forever to be found and then get here. Looking forward to see this one come along and the finished product!

Do you have a dyno run with the current engine? Not that the actual difference matters, but would be interesting to see.

So glad I stumbled on this thread; this is going to be AWESOME!

Excited for you and if this is anything like another 3.9L I drove, you're going to be giggling for the next 10 years.

I think it will be similar....if you drove a sharkwerks car, that's basically what this will be! It will be no 997 gt2, but it should placate me for a while!

Different beasts; each exciting in their own way. The Sharky 3.9L was NA perfection. If that's where you land, you'll be thinking "GT2 who?"

Good luck on the build! I've been through several going from a 3.6 to a 3.8 to a 4.05. The 3.8 was great upgrade and the 4.05 was a huge step up on all fronts. As they say, there is no substitute for cubic inches. Have fun!

P.S. Do a pre and post build dyno for reference.

Hey Scott - will you take the car back while they do the engine? I hauled my engineless car home during the rebuild and poked around at the non engine details. It really makes the time go by faster - especially if you undertake something on the chassis that you realize it MUST be finished before the engine can go back into the car. Just a thought. Can't wait to hear the results. Good luck.

I've been toying with that idea. If nothing else I could do a lot more cleaning LOL! I also got some function first cable ends to install!
