Moving on to the rear end while I await some camber plate bearings from Germany....

Rear end is coming apart pretty smoothly and got a chance to get my hands on the dogbones. They are aftermarket and have part numbers on the rod end (FK rod ends - JMXL10T Edit: also need JMX10T since these are handed. Need 4 of each for the rear of a 996) so I am just going to rebuild these units with new rod ends for the time being. Also was able to pull the RSS Tarmac lower control arms off and pressed out the inner arm bearing for measuring. They appear to be Aurora PNB-12T bearings (
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TOOWVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TOOWVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
) so going to order two of them just to rebuild them out of sheer curiosity. I bought "new" motorsports bearings from a forum member that apparently resells used parts as new, so I had to go to Hoerr Racing for 2 new Fluro bearings (FLR-GXSW18.35MS) to press out the old floppy bearings and in went new firm, high quality bearings (thanks to Ray for the previous thread).

Also ordered some Neo HPCC1 CV grease from Demonspeed and am planning new boots and replacing as much of the old grease as possible with high quality grease as a middle ground before replacing the axles down the road. Already had Neo HP800 on hand so I can repack the rear wheel bearings once they arrive from Germany. Went to a welding supply store and bought a nitrogen tank setup to go with the Intercomp shock pressure kit so I can fill and set the shock pressures on the Motons. Thinking 150-160 psi to start as I have read they are more reliable at the lower pressures and I will be running relatively soft springs compared to some (700/900#split).

Also, PO provided a brand new in bag drivers side wheel well brake duct. Car is missing BOTH, so do I order a $240 passenger side (99657523230) or convert both sides to 997 air ducts ala powderhound for under 100 bucks? Decisions Decisions....

Thanks for this idea. Being 60mm springs, I had to source a different set of parts so went with the following:

4ea: INA AS 6085 Thrust Washers
2ea: AXK6085 needle roller thrust bearings.

Also since I apparently am going for broke, I went ahead an ordered the 997 gt3 throttle body upgrade parts from Andy's thread here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...y-upgrade.html

I figured for the price it was worth the try!

Cgfen - I am pretty sure I would need to roll the odo back 50k miles or sell and buy a new one to get my underbody that clean. Thats amazing,

Hey Drew - I'm pretty sure that loose plug and cut wire go to the drivers side windshield washer nozzle (checked on my car). You can see it's twin in your photo for the passenger side, around the 9/10 o'clock position.

Ok, where was I. Finally drying out from Hurricane Sally (never going to ride one out again!) so time to get on with some updates! Car is currently at the shop getting the fabspeed headers installed and getting a track alignment.

This is how high you need the crossbeam for a 996 gt3 engine on a 1 ton harbor freight table lift.

Heart surgery complete!

Everything PINNED! Passenger side oil cooler one was a PAIN. No chance you can pin this with the motor in the car IMO.

Motor back in place. All coolant hoses replaced, water pump, tensioner pulley, expansion tank, etc. Dang that 82mm throttle body looks HUGE!

Rear coilovers finally getting strapped in place! All new wheel bearings, rebuilt axles, 350mm rotors, etc!

Front coilovers getting initial ride height set!

First time back on her own wheels!

Initial ride height (think 115mm Front and 125mm Rear give or take).

Had to do the console delete while she was getting ready to go to the shop! Classic 911 look and much cleaner than the CD holder IMO.

Such a great experience so far. Only negative throughout this process has been my seemingly horrible luck dealing with Rennlisters on used parts.

H2Ocooledesteem - Bounght "Brand new OE" control arms/bearings set and they ended up being OEM CA's and worn out bearings (had to buy replacement Hirschmann bearings and press them in).
- Also selling under "Lapdancer996" on 6speed online
- Also selling under "9line" on ebay with a boatload of Pcar parts (atleast now he is listing them as USED inner spherical bearings)!!!!

Vetch - Bought used Tarret droplinks that need fully rebuilt, probably will rebuild and resell them eventually. Offered to ship them back at my expense but no go.

Porschekid7 - Stole my Fiske wheels, filed a false credit card claim and is keeping both my Money and my Wheels.

After 15 years on Bimmerforums and other various BMW boards, I cant remember feeling this bad about ONE parts deal. Not sure if Porsches tend to have more "part out sellers" that are in over their heads or trying to make a quick buck on parts that cost more than typical BMW parts.

On the flipside, folks like Nick, Chuck W, Rbahr, hollmatt, etc make this place a worthwhile and knoweldgeable place to hang out. Hope to contribute as I walk through this experience. First track event in Atlanta (CHIN) towards the end of October in case anyone else will be there!
