Default Bought an R32!

As you may remember, I'm still in the middle of an insurance hassle over my Cayenne TT and whether it can be repaired.

I bought an R32 today (grocery getter)as a stop gap (cheaper than rental), and this car is awesome..solid, powerful and fun to drive and better than the Mini (IMO)

Try it and form your own opinion.

Is that better than the cheaper Mitsu Evo? Did you test it?

NJ-GT

The Evo as I understand is a lot "rawer" and based upon that and looks held no appeal for me. The same for the WRX STI.

The only wing I'll tolerate is the GT2 (like it) and GT3 wing (can live with it)

Colm - Great toy! I fondly remember my old GTi it was a ball to drive and I could fit four adults in with comfort as long as they were agile enough to get in back. Once there they had decent knee and headroom. Later Golfs got bigger outside but not inside. Can you fit four adults in the R32? If so, I may try and get one (hard to get) myself. I drove my GTi about twice as often as my 380 SEL in those days.

Best,

I think you get a couple of agile people back there (getting them out is another story!). Drove this thing to the city and back yesterday and it is very Porsche-like, maybe even more solid, and I'm a big Porsche fan!

Viken posted a great link on the car above, as good as any I've seen.

Then you just have to call the dealers and see if they have any in stock. They just released them last week, doubt that they will make it to their website, since the run is limited to 5000.

This car has been around in Europe for a while.

It's more than the GTI. Base price $29,675.

There's one on display at the Chicago auto show. It drew a bigger crowd than any of the adjacent Porsches. AS

congrats on the new wheels colm ! awesome ride !

alex - we really liked the blue R32 at the chicago auto show there last night - its on my radar as a spring trade-in, too many suvs, but loved the GT40 and the big haired ford spokesmodel !
