Thanks guys! Ray, yes, the front end grip is just something completely different from std width suspension and tires. Rear isn't bad either.

I just couldn't keep my hands off the car...so here's the technical update.

*Engine. New coolant expansion tank and LH coolant hose from water pump towars cooler. Tank had a soon-to-explode crack and hose did not stay in. New oil level sensor and a oil level stick. Just in case the sensor fails again.

*Air circulation. Off goes IPD Y-pipe & plenum and 997 GT2's ICs, in comes the whole do88 Big Pack and plenum. TB needed to be updated to Cayenne turbo's 82mm one. Fitting those big boys into a narrowbodied car required some massaging and mods, but they're there. Performance gains (hopefully) will be reported when the snow melts.

*Suspension. Complete overhaul of shocks with new spring seat rings and droplink connecting points. 997 GT3 uprights with new hardware and modified tension bolts. John, thanks for inspiration!

* Brakes. 991 GT3 calipers F&R with 2-piece Brembo discs. 380x34 & 380x30mm. Any sense with this? Most likely not, but I got them cheap. And finally the piston balance is what I want. Unfortunately this lead to...

*Wheels & tyres. The same NTM Racing Pista IIIs, but 10x19" et35 & 12x19 et20. MPSC2s, 265/30 & 325/30. More or less like 996 Cup sizing. Pics later.

do88 stuff installed

do88 plenum, Y-pipe and silicone hosing with installation parts

do88 plenum for Cayenne turbo 82mm plenum

Not too much of extra space

Big ICs

Barely fits

Slight difference in size

Overhauled shocks

Front uprights, 997 GT3

Front brakes installed

Rear brakes installed

Tension bolts with removable tooth rings and different than standard tooth count to balance f&R wheel diameter difference.

Looks good Pete! I just finished installing everything on my car myself. Did you also do the rear uprights? According to our calculations that's a must as the rear roll centers are also raised significantly to match the new fronts. We actually lowered the front roll centers slightly by using the 5mm shorter RSR trunnion pins. Also, have you run your new custom from tensions bolts? I'm curious if you will have any issues with the ABS getting the correct impulse from the teeth cut with the round reliefs at the base as opposed to the square reliefs as done on the OEM tension bolts. The ones we had done were originally were cut the same way as yours and we had them redone to match the OEM square profile. I was told the square negative relief is integral in getting the correct magnetic impulse and I was I bit chicken to take chances. Hope all is well on your end in the meantime!

Thanks John! No, I did not do rears now, I don't have pockets deep enough...and have something for the next winter too.

This is something I need to dig into, I have front LCA inner pickup points raised 6mm, so that might compensate something. Or not. Anyway my LCAs point nicely upwards (out-->in) F&R. Ride height is 110/130.

I drove 30km from home to local auto show yesterday with max speed of 60mph. No ! from ABS nor anything else. Rather interesting ride altogether. OAT -2C and while it was early evening water streaks from melting snow started to freeze again. Not optimal conditions for MPSC2s. AFAIK the shape of relief' base do not affect anything as long as reliefs are deep enough. The magnetic sensor is quite dummy and if you increase the gap between sensor and ring too big (something like 2-3 mm does the trick), it doesn't work at all.

Now some pics from the weekend's auto show.

Because the name of the show was "American Car Show, Tuning Car Show, MC Heaven & Motorsport 2018", the motorsport section was small and at the very far end corner of the exop center. I had no time for props either. Just the car, no BS.

New front inner fenderliners installed, I modified 997 GT3 I004 parts. Front ones required just minor trimming and new attachment points while radiator brackets were already pulled forward and reshaped. Rear ones needed heat gun and extensions (up to 70 mm) to fill arches. Front droplinks also needed new upper bolts with these uprights, so I got them milled from 22 mm CroMo hexrod. I noticed while driving to the show that alighnment wasn't correct and car sat too low at rear. No wonder, I had been too long awake while doing the alignment, so that issue is fixed too.

The complete front droplinkage.

Droplink bolts which also tighten uprights to shock bodies.

LH inner lower fender liner. Installed with M6 stanless hex bolts to rivnuts on radiator bracket.

Air scoop towards the brake. Lower scoop (on diagonal arm) not yet installed.

Friday evening at 9xx-parts/9xx-garage's Burges and Cars. About 60 Porsche's there, I arrived late and had to park on the street.

Saturday morning, this year's first PCF trackday at Ahvenisto. Yes, the white 991 is a GT2RS...

Unfortunately I managed to drive just few laps before this happened:

It's right rear LCA's bracket broken. Just snapped when braking. Car started to wiggle like a drunken snake. At first I thought that track rod's inner bolt is loose and locking plates had slipped.

EDIT: I just bought a set of 997 Cup/R/RSR subframes as replacement. Let's see how this ends, once again...

Front splitter is now completed and the underbody is flat from the tip of the splitter to the front end of the engine. Pics later. Here's pics of rear corners' floorbits with thermal insulation under cats and turbos.

BTDT, again:

Nürburgring Nordschleife, 14-Jun-2018.

^^^Two and half laps, on the half I was about to go under 8' BTG before it started to rain.
